This paper also looks at how research gaps are addressed in the literature with a particular emphasis on issues of organizational sustainability. Overall, organizational sustainability, including issues and aspects related to sustainability, is discussed. Individual authors provide their perspectives on various aspects of organizational sustainability from their field research, case analysis, and creative search. It also includes a greater knowledge of how real economic activity concerns and political dynamics can inhibit decision-making related to operational or practical sustainability. Several sustainability viewpoints from around the world have provided a genuine mechanism for organizations to increase their financial success while minimizing their impact on the environment and society. To fill this gap, the authors draw on knowledge-based and social capital theories and investigate how various KM practices and external networks (e.g. bridging social capital) affect scaling social impact in developing countries.Design/methodology/approachApplying structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS version 23, the authors conducted a survey with 354 women leaders who are working in women-led social enterprises in Dhaka, Bangladesh.FindingsThe authors found that knowledge codification, training and mentoring, and bridging social capital are positively and significantly associated with scaling social impact.Originality/valueThis is one of the pioneering study that explore how KM impacts scaling social impact for women-led social enterprises in the context of a developing country. This paper adopts three theories from three distinct perspectives, including the institutional or organizational perspective, the employee perspective, and the stakeholder perspective, to construct and develop strong relationships among different variables to form a research framework connecting these three perspectives with organizational sustainability. The study then suggested a conceptual model for organizational sustainability based on three theories: the institutional theory (IT), the ability-motivation-opportunity (AMO) theory, and the stakeholder theory (ST). Several theoretical perspectives of organizational sustainability, including IT, AMO theory, and ST perspectives of sustainability concerns, were used to explore and determine the motivational viewpoint of these theories. This study began with a review of mu...

As a result, the purpose of this study is to develop a model of SME’s strategic philanthropic performance in light of the societal reactions to the COVID-19 issue, particularly in terms of the intervention of corporate spirituality and the solid regulatory motive behind these.Design/methodology/approachA systematic mixed review analysis has been executed to analyze the strategic philanthropic performance configuration triggered by the recent COVID-19 crisis, in which over 369 publications are read and reviewed by the authors. It has also established the reliability and validity of literature analysis. Also besides, a short form of qualitative investigation has been used to support the direction of the study.FindingsThrough regulatory adjustments, the study's findings effectively developed a strategic philanthropic performance configuration f...

The objective of the pilot study was to assess the viability, length of time, cost, and adverse effects of innovation on the sustainable growth of SMEs in Nigeria so as to enhance the design of the questionnaire before its full implementation. A review of the research instrument was performed by four multi-disciplinary academics who specialised in management, accounting, and strategic management, respectively. The aim was to ensure consistency in the questionnaire so that respondents would have no trouble completing them. The statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) Version 23 was used to assist in the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) which tests for reliability and the Cronbach alpha values were used to examine the content and face validity of the instrument. All the constructs and items used in the model were adapted fro...

The study seeks to investigate the extent of organizational support ensured by the workplaces to create a transgender-friendly environment in Bangladesh. The paper opted for a mixed study and surveyed 47 trans workers using a questionnaire. The responses yielded quantitative data that was analyzed using SPSS. The qualitative data was collected through focus group discussions with seven respondents. The study findings showed that the discrimination and exclusion experience is negative for trans workers of Bangladeshi organizations and educational institutions. While most of the respondents felt primarily excluded in the formal setting, they feel that they have been intentionally left out when they meet their coworkers in informal or social gatherings. The outcomes of the discrimination involved forced termination and absenteeism on th...

To achieve this aim, the study seeks to determine the sustainability drivers to accommodate the pandemic-ridden environment and if sustainability indicators can help improve the supply chain management of the CPO sector. A methodology is divided into two interrelated parts: first, based on a careful review of extant literature of the CPO sector and sustainable supply chain in the light of pandemic. The proposed methodology is then tested using the response data of 108 oil mills' representatives collected through survey questionnaires and analyzed using statistical tools of reliability, distribution, Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin (KM...

Rapid urbanization in the emerging markets necessitates utilizing the scarce resources more reasonably and sustainably, for which technology adaptation is imperative. Despite this, the emerging markets suffer from weak technology and lag from realizing entrepreneurial opportunities inspired by a humancentric concept of Society 5.0. The key research aim is twofold. First, to explore<br> the possibilities of transforming the emerging markets into smart cities in Bangladesh. Second, the potential of introducing and operating Smart SMEs in the smart cities as a pre-condition to embrace Society 5.0 for ultimate wellbeing for humans across the emerging economy. The study adopts a clustered content analysis method, followed by collection and classification of the relevant extant literature on the urbanization status of Bangladesh, Smart City, and Society 5.0. The literature review suggests that, with the right digital solutions, Society 5.0 may inspire to build a more versa...

The huge customer base, increasing demand, emerging markets, acute competition among the brands, and changing customer behaviour are remarkable; nevertheless customer satisfaction and loyalty are not static, and are somewhat changeable. The lack of extensive research on satisfaction and loyalty in this context is the motivation for this research. This study attempted to inspect the role of customer satisfaction and its predictors on brand loyalty and the role of brand trust in these relationships. The study was conducted in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with 486 respondents. The structured survey questionnaires were selected using the shopping mall-intercept sampling technique, where measurements were adapted from the literature. Elementary analyses were done using SPSS, and hypotheses were tested using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that customer sa...

While some literature reviews have been conducted on small firm growth, a comprehensive review of theories emphasizing the association of intangible resources with the growth of small firms has not been conducted. This study aims to provide a literature review of extant theoretical perspectives of small businesses literature. For the review, materials are collected and extracted from various online databases, and results are analysed using classifier variables. Five theories of firm growth, namely, the resource-based theory, knowledge-based theory, dynamic capabilities theory, upper echelon theory and resource-dependency theory, are selected to review, associating the present research aim. The theories are compared using key attributes and outcomes. A clear direction towards an optimum theory to ...

The ontology will be useful for their general operations, decision making and also to facilitate the financial engineering. The software engineering approach develop ontologies that are more reliable, long lived, and continually adapted. It also enables the ontology to adapt to the context of its purpose. In the context of this paper which is designing the ontology for Islamic banking product; the peculiarities of the Islamic banking businesses demand several crucial characteristics to be taken into account in the development of the ontology. The characteristics relate to the business model, diverse roles, distinct concepts, representation rules, reuse of other ontologies and varieties of disciplines related to the industry. The software engineering approach guides the conduct of root cause analysis to understand the issues faced by the domain to be put up as requirement specification of the ontology.
