In addition to communication with the public, ARÚB also
uses the Visitors Centre for targeted communication, especially with the milieu of citizen science. What is equally important is its use for the implementation of professional meetings and smaller conferences.
In 2023, the Visitors Centre was also selected by the Office of the President of the Czech Republic as a place that the Czech President, Petr Pavel, would visit during his trip to the South Moravia Region in September of this year. He thus became, after T. G. Masaryk, the founder of the Czechoslovak state and its first president, only the second head of state to visit this important Roman site in the south of Moravia.
project of the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy
of Sciences, Brno, the Visitors’ Centre Mušov – “Gateway to the
Roman Empire” will be opened to the public. The Centre is located
within the cadastre of Pasohlávky municipality at the foot of
the hill Hradisko near Mušov. The project was implemented with
the financial support of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the
opening of the Centre takes place fortuitously in the jubilee year
of the Institute’s 50th anniversary of its independent existence.
The mission of the Visitors’ Centre is to inform the public about
heritage value and historical importance of the Roman military
fort at Hradisko, about the traces left on our territory by the Roman
legions in the 2nd century AD, as well as to present selected
aspects of life in Central Europe of that time.
