Avielle's ex always had a way of getting his foot in the door, even after he abandoned Avielle after they got married. Once he got back into Avielle's life, Avielle took her marriage vows very seriously and did her best to make the relationship work. However, once they had kids, the emotional and physical abuse ramped up, and Avielle was afraid to leave due to the threats of being arrested.
