There are two distinct behaviors when users access the Grafana login page at https://grafana.wikimedia.org/login, depending on the route they take to get there.

FWIW, with the event platform consolidation proposal, metrics owners do not have to choose. All of these metrics will go both to Prometheus and to the Data Lake automatically.
Thank you for the proposal; it seems we have some options forward. To move us towards a decision, I’d like to raise a couple of points for consideration:
I am closing this task as Graphite is under active deprecation. Existing metrics are being actively migrated to Prometheus. The SRE Observability team asks that no new metrics be deployed to Graphite, as the service will be transitioned to a read-only state in EoQ3 FY2024/25 (~Spring 2025).

@Ottomata asked me to note that for Product Analytics it would be really helpful if the data was available in data lake and could be accessed/reported with Superset (which we know how to use).
