Background

Data Products and Data Platform Engineering have arrived at an alternative to dynamically creating/destroying stream configs: We create a stream per Metrics Platform Base Schema and submit all Base-Schema-conforming events to those streams. In this scenario, the stream config merging part of the MetricsPlatform extension is redundant.

However, the extension is deployed via our own Toolforge tool and will eventually be loaded on the Beta Cluster. In order to continue testing the extension as is in those environments, we should be able to conditionally enable sthe stream config merging part of the extension.

• The stream config merging part of the MetricsPlatform extension is disabled by default
• The configuration for the Toolforge tool is updated
