Abstract
Our invention includes a package to protect people in noisy and polluted workplaces. This package includes headphones, masks, and an application connected to these devices. One of the problems in noisy workplaces is that when employees use safety earmuffs, they have to take off their masks and earmuffs if they need to talk to others. In other words, one of the important goals of this invention is to create safe communication conditions for employees in noisy and polluted environments. By using this package, the employees can communicate even at a distance, and even employees who are close to each other do not need to remove their masks or earmuffs to talk to each other.
Description
In the past years, using cottons in ears as earplugs was common among the population. But using them for a long time would cause people hearing problems because of their lint. To avoid the damage caused by cotton, people would use wax in many cases. But wax would also melt in the ear and cause problems. In the 19th century, with industrialization of the societies, many people figured out that noise pollution was harmful to health so they looked for a solution. A German company first designed cotton earplugs in a circular shape, the way that the lint was less so it was less harmful.
At the beginning of World War I, the need for better earmuffs was felt and gradually, better earmuffs were introduced to the market. In 1962, the manufacturing of silicon earmuffs was started. It was a significant development and it didn't have the previous problems. In the year 1967, the creation of foam and using it in earmuffs, safety headphones were made, and gradually, more developed earmuffs entered the market. The noise-blocking headphones are called earmuffs today. Earmuff is a personal care equipment. In the past years, using cottons in ears as earplugs was common among the population. IN201811043315 - TRIGGER BASED NOISE BLOCKING HEADPHONES
Disclosed is a system for blocking noise by attaching a triggering mechanism to noise source(s). The present system protects the person from hearing loss by blocking noises that originate from noise sources/equipment they are operating. The present system further facilitates to resumption of normal hearing when the trigger is deactivated and switches on the microphone of the headset.
Our invention includes a safety package for people working in noisy and highly polluted workplaces.

Iran 67418 – industrial automatic noise-blocking earplugs
In industrial workshops, especially in highly noisy welding workshops, the workers have to put earplugs on their ears to protect them. One of the main problems with these earmuffs is that workers have to take them off to have conversations with others and this will occupy them for a while and may be harmful as well. But the designed earmuffs are designed in a way that solves this problem.
This invention includes earmuffs and a mask that ensures safe work conditions for employees who work in highly polluted workplaces. An ESP32 chip is placed in the device that makes it possible for the device to connect to a network or Bluetooth. It has also a microphone amplifier module AGC MAX 9814 and a 0.8 ohm/ 0.5-watt speaker in the earmuff. The described technology plus some more equipment provides the user with health recommendations for inside and outside of the work office.
In certain jobs and workplaces, workers may face difficulties and dangers caused by their job conditions and this may be a threat to their health. Since controlling job conditions is not possible in many cases, the only way possible is to provide coworkers with safety equipment for personal care. Workers in mines and some other jobs like factories, industries, etc.., are faced with loud noises that can be harmful to the ears and mental conditions. The environment might be full of poisonous gas as well.
One of the problems of noisy workplaces is that people have to take off their earplugs and masks to be able to talk to others. if this happens several times, it may cause serious problems after a while, for their health and mental conditions.
The devices designed in this project include a mask with a microphone and earmuffs to make it possible for the workers in mines, factories, etc. to talk without taking off the masks and the earmuffs. By using this device, people can have conversations even at long distances, using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or radio waves, based on the facilities of their workplace. The mask is also equipped with a technology that warns about the filter-changing time, based on the duration of time that it has been in a polluted area. All these safety devices are connected by an application that is specially designed for them and it gives safety recommendations for each worker while they are in the office or not.
Device manufacturing details
the used pieces in the mask and earmuffs are as follows:
microphone amplifier module AGC MAX 9814
Speaker 0.8 Ohm / 0.5 half-watt
Processor chip ESP32
Gas sensor MQ135(Sensitive to gases like CO2, smoke, Benzen, NOX, NH3, etc.)
The final device consists of a 0.8 ohm/0.5-watt speaker that is placed inside the ear pads (with acoustic material) and also a mask equipped with a microphone amplifier module AGC MAX9814 and an ESP32 processor.
The speaker in the earmuff and the microphone are connected by a mesh network. There is also an ESP32 processor chipset in the mask and earmuffs that makes it possible for the device to connect to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Plus, there is also the possibility to have wireless connections by walkie-talkies and these walkie-talkies could be placed anywhere in the package based on the work conditions. to set the walkie-talkies, we first put any number of them on the same channel, and to set the channel in walkie-talkies without screens, we use the middle selector. Most of the permitted walkie-talkies support 16 channels and the number of each of them is written beside the volume. For example, all of them will be set in channel one. If there is a noise, we can change it. We can also dedicate each channel to a particular group for them to be in touch.
Also to protect workers from existing chemical contaminations, the standard amount of each gas and pollutant is set on the relevant application that is installed on the phone and the designed mask can connect to the application. This way, in case the amount of contaminations is more than the standard level in case of long use, or if the mask's filters have lost their functionality, the application will warn the user to change the mask. If the mask is not connected to the application, the mask has a timer that has a time limit and it will warn the user to change it
The safety application could provide health recommendations to the workers, based on the time they have been disposed of the contaminations. The recommendations could be as follows:
1. The required sleeping hour
2. Healthy diet
3. Corrective exercises, etc.
To sum up, the actual invention considers different aspects of working in inconvenient workplaces.
In other words, it provides not only safety recommendations for the workplace but also for after leaving there and it can help people have healthier lifestyles in general.
1. Helping to communicate and be in contact with each other, in noisy and highly polluted environments. The final goal of the device is to improve the safety conditions of the workplace and avoid health issues for the employees (ears' health, mental health, breathing organs, etc.)
2. Increasing the awareness and surveillance of worker's health conditions and giving health recommendations about the amount of pollutants in the air via the connection between the mask and the application that is designed on the phone and therefore, warns about changing the mask's filter
3. Preparing recommendations for the health of the employees based on the time and the amount of pollutants they have been disposed of. These recommendations are received on the phone. This is one of the most important features of our invention that helps analyze people's health, in and outside of the workplace, and can give advice on exercise, diet, and sleeping hours.
