DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The following description is merely exemplary in nature and is not intended to limit the present disclosure, application, or uses.
With reference now to the drawings, a new and improved device for dispensing a liquid product embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention and generally designated by the reference number 1 will be described.
With reference to Fig. 1, there is shown a device 1 for dispensing a liquid product according to one exemplary embodiment of the present application. The device 1 is to be grasped by a user, in order to allow the user to carry out a massage of the scalp as well as application of liquid product to be treated on the scalp using at least one massage element. The massage element is for example a ball or a sphere that is applied on the body surface of the user. In one example, the massage element is a nozzle 51 of the applicator 5. In another example as shown in Figs. 1-2, the massage element is a massage head 6 which is nested on the applicator 5. In one example, the massage head 6 includes multiple massage protrusions 61 corresponding to the number of the multiple nozzles 51, and the massage protrusion 61 is made of elastomer material and has a ball or oval shape. In one example, the massage protrusion 61 and/or the massage head is made of TPE material, and preferably, the TPE material has a Shore hardness with A scale. In another example, the massage protrusions 61 may be made of materials selected from the group of TPE, elastomer plastics, PU (Polyurethan) and silicone rubber. In one example, the Shore  hardness of massage protrusion 61 is between 20 and 90. In one example, the applicator and/or the nozzle are/is made of PP and TPE by bi-injection molding process. In such a situation, the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product will provide a comfortable soft massage feeling to the customers.
In one exemplary embodiment of the present application, the container 2 can be squeezed to promote the liquid product flowing out when in the open position. Moreover, the multiple nozzles 51 are advantageous over only one nozzle in that the fluid product is more evenly dispensed in a reduced volume for each nozzle.
In the present application, the device for dispensing a liquid product includes a scalp massage applicator, and this applicator has 3~5 nozzles. Thanks to soft material (TPE/Elastomer/PU material) with bi-injection technology for the scalp massage applicator, the device for dispensing a liquid product would provide right formulation delivery together with massage function. Moreover, this applicator will be easy to move on the scalp because it has 4 nozzles for formula delivery and soft elastomer for massage function on the scalp. Thanks to soft touch of massage applicator, the applicator would help to improve scalp blood circulation.
The device 1 for dispensing a liquid product includes an outer screw cap 3, which is configured to be mounted onto the container 2. In particular, in one example, as shown in Figs. 4, 4A and 6-7, the outer screw cap 3 includes a cap body 31 having a skirt part 312 for fastening onto the opening of the container and a ceiling 311 formed at the top portion of the skirt part 312. Moreover, the outer screw cap 3 includes a collar 32 axially extending from the ceiling 311 in a direction opposite from the skirt part 312, and the collar 32 forms a portion of the outer screw cap 3 for engaging with the inner cap 4. As shown in Figs. 6-7, the skirt part 312 has female thread on the inner peripheral surface thereof, and the skirt part 312 is fastened onto the opening of the container by means of the female thread.
With reference to Fig. 5 and with continuous reference to Figs. 2 and 6-7, The device 1 for dispensing a liquid product also includes an inner  cap 4, which is engageable with said outer screw cap 3 and movable thereon from an open position in which the liquid product is dispensed from the container 2, to a closed position in which the liquid product is blocked from flowing out. In one exemplary embodiment of the present application, as shown in Figs. 4-5 and as especially shown in fig. 4A, a channel 321 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the collar 32 of the outer screw cap 3 and preferably on the midway of the outer peripheral surface of the collar 32, and a slider 413 is formed on the inner cap 4 and the slider 413 slides along the channel 321 during the rotation of the inner cap 4 with respect to the outer screw cap 3 between the open position and the closed position, and during the rotation towards the open position, the inner cap 4 will axially move away from said outer screw cap 3. In one example, the inner cap 4 and/or the outer screw cap 3 is made of PP material by injection molding process.
In one exemplary embodiment as shown in Fig. 5, the inner cap 4 includes an outer peripheral skirt 41 and a base part 40 which is formed like a ceiling or top plate at the top end of the outer peripheral skirt 41. The slider 413 extends radially inwards from the inner peripheral surface of the outer peripheral skirt 41, and during rotation of said inner cap 4 with respect to said outer screw cap 3, the slider 413 will slide within said channel 321 of the outer screw cap 3.
In this way, the present application uses a simple inner/outer sliding system to realize the opening and closing of the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product. The inner/outer sliding system can also be called on/off system, and it would have a simple rotation gesture and it would achieve multiple functionalities (for example, close /opening /formula delivery) . Furthermore, this on/off system also includes a formula delivery function and it would provide formula delivery until it is closed to scalp for blood circulation. Thank to soft massage applicator, the reason why consumer presses applicator during the massage and formula delivery is to give to a pressing force. It would be more help to provide scalp blood circulation during the formula is applied to the scalp. Moreover, soft massage  protrusion 61 of ball or oval shape which is made by elastomer material will provide the customers with comfortable feeling, and thus the customers will enjoy the liquid scalp/hair composition functional benefit for health of scalp.
Moreover, the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product includes an applicator 5. In one exemplary embodiment as shown in Fig. 3, the applicator 5 includes an outer skirt 52 and multiple nozzles 51. In one exemplary embodiment, the outer skirt 52 includes a pair of axial extending ribs 521 formed on the inner peripheral surface of the outer skirt 52. In one exemplary embodiment, the outer skirt 52 also includes a circumferential lip 522 on the inner peripheral surface thereof, and the circumferential lip 522 is interrupted in the position where the pair of axial extending ribs 521 is located. In one exemplary embodiment as shown in Fig. 3, the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4 includes a pair of axial extending ridges 411 in positions corresponding to the pair of axial extending ribs 521 of the applicator 5. The pair of axial extending ridges 411 will abut the pair of axial extending ribs 521 during operation to avoid the applicator 5 rotate with respect to the inner cap 4. In one exemplary embodiment, the inner cap 4 includes a circumferential rim 412 on the outer peripheral surface thereof, and when the applicator 5 is coupled to the inner cap 4, the circumferential lip 522 of the applicator 5 will slide over the circumferential rim 412 of the inner cap 4, so as to avoid the applicator 5 axially moving away from the inner cap 4. In this way, the applicator 5 is restricted from rotating or moving axially with respect to the inner cap 4. In other words, the applicator 5 is coupled to the inner cap 4 without any movement by means of the corresponding axial extending rib, ridge and circumferential rim and lip on the applicator 5 and the inner cap 4, respectively. In this way, applicator 5 and the inner cap 4 are formed as if they are an integral part, so that the device 1 for dispensing a liquid product is more convenient for use.
In one exemplary embodiment as shown in Figs. 4-5, a stop 35 in the outer screw cap 3 is axially extending from the ceiling 311 of the outer  screw cap 3, and an inner peripheral skirt 42 is axially extending from the base part 40 of the inner cap 4 and coaxial with the outer peripheral skirt 41 on the inner cap 4, and a corresponding stop 44 in the inner cap 4 is extending axially from the base part 40 and radially from the outer periphery of the inner peripheral skirt 42, and when the inner cap 4 is rotated to the closed position, the corresponding stop 44 will abut the stop 35 with a clear click or audible sound.
As such, the present application uses a simple inner/outer sliding system in combination with the corresponding stops which creates a click or audible sound, the user can be reminded that the device is already in the closed position, and now no fluid product will flow out in this closed position.
In one exemplary embodiment, with continuous reference to Figs. 4-5, the outer screw cap 3 includes a curved axial groove 310 formed on the ceiling 311, and the curved axial groove 310 is coaxial with the collar 32 and the depth of the groove changes in the axial direction A, and the inner cap 4 includes an overhang 421 extending axially from the inner peripheral skirt 42, and during rotation of said inner cap 4 with respect to said outer screw cap 3, the overhang 421 will slide within said curved axial groove 310, accompany with the sliding of the slider 413 within the channel 321.
With reference to Figs. 6-7 and with continuous reference to Figs. 4-5, in one exemplary embodiment, the collar 32 includes at least one and preferably two axial slots 322 at either end of the channel 321, and when the inner cap 4 is rotated to the open position or the closed position, the slider 413 will slide into one of the two axial slots 322 accordingly. As such, when the device for dispensing a liquid product is in the open position or the closed position, the user will get a tactile feedback because the slider slides into the axial slots 322 which are deeper than the channel 321.
In one exemplary embodiment, the collar 32 includes two or four axial slots 322 which are spaced at the circumference thereof, and two channels 321 are diagonally formed the outer peripheral surface of the  collar 32, and two sliders 413 are diagonally formed on the inner cap 4, so that the inner cap 4 rotates about 90 degrees to 180 degrees from the closed position to the open position. Such 90-180 degree rotation will help to operate the device more easily, and even the user can operate the device by one hand.
Moreover, the diagonally symmetric arrangement of the sliders and channels provides a more precise moving or rotating during the operation of the device, which prompts a perfect guidance to the open position. In one example, the four axial slots 322 are equally spaced at the circumference of the collar 32, and the inner cap 4 preferably rotates about 90 degrees from the closed position to the open position.
In one exemplary embodiment, with continuous reference to Figs. 4-7, the inner cap 4 and the outer screw cap 3 comprise a recess 43 and complementary recess 33 respectively, and the recess 43 is extending axially from the base part 40 and coaxial with the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4, and the complementary recess 33 is extending axially from the ceiling 311 and coaxial with the collar 32 on the outer screw cap 3. In one example, a post 34 is axially extending from the ceiling 311 and is located in the center of the complementary recess 33. In one example, when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position as shown in Fig. 6, the post 34 abuts the inner peripheral surface of the recess 43 so as to block the liquid product is from flowing out; when the inner cap 4 is in the open position as shown in Fig. 7, the liquid product will pass between the post 34 and the recess 43 and flow out, as shown in Fig. 7.
In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figs. 4 and 6, the post 34 is formed with an upstanding dome 341 at the free end, and when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position as shown in Fig. 6, the upstanding dome 341 abuts the inner peripheral surface of the recess 43, so as to seal the passageway for the fluid product.
In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Figs. 4 and 5, holes 340 are formed in the ceiling 311 and located between the outer peripheral surface of the post 34 and the inner peripheral surface of the  complementary recess 33, and apertures 430 are formed in base part 40 and within the recess 43. In one exemplary embodiment, the upstanding dome 341 cooperatively engages with the recess 43 to block the apertures 430 when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position, as shown in Fig. 6.
In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Fig. 7, the collar 32 has a circumferential edge 324 on the outer peripheral surface thereof, and the outer peripheral skirt 41 has a corresponding circumferential edge 414 on the inner peripheral surface thereof for engaging with the circumferential edge 324, so as to avoid the inner cap 4 axially moving away from the outer screw cap 3.
In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Fig. 4, the collar 32 has one or more strengthen ribs 323 axially extending on the inner peripheral surface of the collar 32 at the position corresponding to the channel 321. In this way, it is avoided that the channel 321 or the collar 32 is destroyed after multiple times of opening and closing of the device, because the strengthen ribs 323 add rigidity or strength to the channel 321 or the collar 32 of the outer screw cap 3.
In one exemplary embodiment, as shown in Fig. 6, when the inner cap 4 is in the closed position, the axial distance between the lowest end of the outer peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4 and the ceiling 311 of the outer screw cap 3 is the smallest, and this axial distance is shown as "d1" in Fig. 6. In contrast, as shown in Fig. 7, when the inner cap 4 is in the open position, the axial distance between the lowest end of the peripheral skirt 41 of the inner cap 4 and the ceiling 311 of the outer screw cap 3 is the biggest, and this axial distance is shown as "d2"in Fig. 7. As one example, the range of d1 may be between 0.2~3 mm, and this small distance would be of help to provide good position between the inner cap 4 and the outer screw cap 3. Moreover, the range of d2 may be between 2.2~5 mm, and this small distance would be of help to avoid any twist when being pressed in a horizontal direction. As another example, a range of “d2 -d1” may be 0.2 mm~5 mm. In one example, d2 -d1 = 2 mm. In other words, when the inner cap 4 rotates from the closed position in Fig. 6 to the open  position in Fig. 7, the inner cap 4 will lift up about 2 mm during the rotation. Such axial lift will help to create enough room or passageway for the liquid product to flow (even bulk flow) out to be dispensed.
Aspects of the present disclosure have been described in detail with reference to the illustrated embodiments; those skilled in the art will recognize, however, that many modifications may be made thereto without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. The present disclosure is not limited to the precise construction and compositions disclosed herein; any and all modifications, changes, and variations apparent from the foregoing descriptions are within the scope of the disclosure as defined by the appended claims. Moreover, the present concepts expressly include any and all combinations and subcombinations of the preceding elements and features.
