Abstract

A wearable electronic travel aid device is disclosed for monitoring and guiding pedestrians in crowds, including those with visual impairments. The device uses positioning sensors and Al, to generate accurate location estimations within a twenty-cubic-centimeter frame. It also includes a guidance communication system, audio signals, 3D Haptic communication, and a human-machine interface. The system uses RSSI and CSI techniques to characterize human presence and activities, and uses Wi-Fi fingerprinting for active localization.
