B位置には固定式のウエルトプレッサー15、H位置にはタックプレッサー17、A位置には左右一対のスライダー切換プレッサー19が設けられる。タックプレッサー17とスライダー切換プレッサー19は電磁石により出没制御が可能で作用位置または不作用位置に切換できる。特許第2917146号公報の図1-Cに示すようにプレッサーは針溝に収容されるセレクトジャックのバットを押圧して針溝内へ沈める。そのためセレクトジャックの下位に収容された針本体3とスライダー5のバットも針溝内に沈むのでカムの作用を受けることはない。また、上述のように本実施形態のスライダー切換プレッサー19は、セレクトジャックのバットに作用しているが、例えば特許第3292836号公報のようにスライダーが前後に2つのバット(第1、第2バット)を有する場合は、前方側の第1バット(補助バット)の方にスライダー切換プレッサーを作用させて第2バットを沈めるようにしてもよい。
ループプレッサー9は特許第4102430号公報に記載のように針床上方の補助床(不図示)に備えられ、キャリッジに搭載された不図示のループプレッサー制御カムで歯口に対して進退、且つ歯口上方で下降して編糸を押し下げる作用をする。ループプレッサー9を複数本の編針毎に設けることも可能であるが、好ましくはループプレッサー9を編針1本毎に対応させて設けるようにすればパンチレース編地の柄部分を任意の編針で形成することが可能となる。つまり柄の制約をなくせるメリットがある。
図1の上位に給糸口を示す。キャリッジの進行方向の先行側がレース糸用給糸口45、後行側が柄糸用給糸口47である。編針1へと延びるレース糸49が柄糸51よりも低い位置となるようにレース糸用給糸口45は柄糸用給糸口47よりも先行させ、かつレース糸用給糸口45の高さを低くしている。レース糸49と柄糸51間に高低差が得られるならこの構成に代えて例えばレース糸用給糸口45をより大きく先行させるようにすれば各給糸口の高さは同じであってもよい。レース糸49が柄糸51よりも下方とするのでレース糸を下糸、柄糸を上糸と呼ぶことがある。なお、レース糸49は透明なナイロン系のものを使用すれば柄糸部分が浮き上がるような視覚上の効果を得られるが、これに限らず他の種類の糸を使用しても良い。
このような構成の横編機を用いて行うパンチレース編地の編成方法を以下説明する。本実施形態では、A位置の編針1はルート40、H位置の編針1はルート41を通過させる場合を例として説明する。パンチレース編地を編成するコースでは、編地のベース55をレース糸49で編成するため編針1をH位置に選択し、柄部分57を編成する編針1をA位置に選択する。本実施形態では、A位置に選択された編針を柄用編針(以下、編針P)、H位置に選択された編針をベース用編針(以下、編針B)とする。カムシステム10では先行側のスライダー切換プレッサー19とタックプレッサー17を不作用位置および後行側のスライダー切換プレッサー19を作用位置にセットする。

複合針制御手段によってベース用編針および柄用編針の針本体を所定量後退させることでベース用編針はフックをスライダーの先端を当接させてフックを閉ざし、柄用編針ではフックを開いた状態を維持させたままとし、
続いてループプレッサーを更に下降させることでフックを開いた状態にある柄用編針のフックの進退軌跡内へと柄糸用給糸口から延びる柄糸部分を押し下げるステップ、
上記ステップに続いて複合針制御手段によってベース用編針と柄用編針の針本体を後退させることでベース用編針ではフックで柄糸を引き込まずミスさせてレース糸のみを引き込んでニットループを形成させ、柄用編針ではフックはレース糸と柄糸の両方を引き込んでニットループを形成させるステップ、
を含むことを特徴とする横編機によるパンチレース編地の編成方法。 - 前記各ステップを繰り返し行うことで、コース方向に連続してベースと柄部分を複数形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の横編機によるパンチレース編地の編成方法。
- 複合針制御手段は、横編機のキャリッジに搭載したカムシステムであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の横編機によるパンチレース編地の編成方法。
- 前記カムシステムは、押圧作用によってスライダーのバットを針溝に沈めるためのスライダー切換プレッサーと、スライダーのバットに作用するスライダーサイドレイジングカムを備え、これらにより柄糸をレース糸とともにニットループを形成または柄糸のみをミスにすることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の横編機によるパンチレース編地の編成方法。
