1794/MUM/2014 DATED 30/05/2014
Technical field of invention:
Present invention in general relates to a rugged mobile device particularly to the Mother Board which is a unique combination of biometric Thumb Reader, Extra GPS and alcohol Sensor configured on a mobile board. The rugged mobile device is having multiple uses will be used for attendance, identification, recognition, authorisation. Apart from in-built GPS The rugged mobile is having an extra GPS due to which the results of the Latitude and Longitude position would be highly accurate with accuracy less than 2.5 meters. It can also conduct test of breath as to measure the blood Alcohol Count present in the human body if any, while performing any activity or work.
Prior art:
Vehicle operation by persons under the influence of alcohol or accidents caused in industries or business premises due to such personnel 's on duty is a well known safety problem throughout the world. Thousands of deaths per year in the country are attributable to drivers operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. To address this problem, most states have established laws that prohibit operation of a vehicle by an individual with a blood alcohol content (BAC) greater than a pre-set value (e.g., 0.08% BAG). In addition, "ignition interlock" systems have been developed which are directly connected to a
vehicle's ignition system and are designed to prevent vehicle operation by inebriated individuals.
Many states require the installation of ignition interlock systems in the vehicles of individuals convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol, particularly repeat offenders. An interlock system using biometrics scans to identify in realtime an individual who seeks to operate a mechanical device, such as an automobile. Biometrics features that uniquely identify an individual are selected. If a real-time biometrics scan of the individual does not match a stored image of an authorized operator, the interlock system will lock the mechanical device to prevent operation. The interlock system may be used in conjunction with a breath alcohol analyser to determine impairment. If the biometrics testing indicates that the individual is required to be tested for impairment, the mechanical device will not operate until the testing is completed. If the biometrics testing automatically indicates that the operator of the mechanical apparatus and the individual exhaling into the breath alcohol analyser component of the ignition interlock is not the same person, the ignition system of the mechanical apparatus, which operates in conjunction with the ignition interlock, provides a programmable software option to prevent the apparatus from starting. If the test indicates that the individual is impaired the interlock system will lock the mechanical device to prevent operation.
Another US application 20060237254 A 1 describes vehicle ignition interlock systems with multiple alcohol sensors which include a breath analyser and a controller operably connected to the breath analyser and to an ignition system of the vehicle. The breath analyser detects breath alcohol level of a vehicle operator and prevents vehicle ignition if a breath alcohol level is greater than or equal to a threshold value. The controller requires the vehicle operator to periodically take breath analyser "retests" after vehicle ignition in order to allow vehicle operation to continue. The breath analyser includes first and
second alcohol sensors. The second alcohol sensor is a backup for the first alcohbl sensor and becomes operational if the first alcohol sensor malfunctions. The first or second alcohol sensors may be a mouth contamination sensor that distinguishes between mouth contaminants and alcohol contained within a deep lung breath sample. The system also includes sensors configured to detect impact (abuse) and vehicle motion.
DE 197 42 261 Al describes a device for blocking the operation of a vehicle by a driver who is under the influence of alcohol. The alcohol tester is designed to be attached to a body part (arm or leg) of the driver and to be able to measure the driver's alcohol level by means of an electrochemical gas sensor via the skin permeation. The analysing unit of the device proper, via which release or blocking of the vehicle takes place, is mounted permanently in the vehicle and communicates with the tester in a wireless manner.
U.S. Pat. No. 7,256,700 B l pertains to an interlock system, by means of which a vehicle is prevented from being started by a driver who is under the influence of alcohol. The interlock system is coupled with a cell phone or a similar communications means, with which a failed alcohol test is communicated by a verbal message being sent via the cell phone. .Furthermore, data, which are stored in the interlock system, can also be sent via the cell phone.
US 2007/0273537 A l discloses a combined testing and positioning system, which contains, among other things, an interlock system. The interlock system is used in this case in the known manner to prevent a vehicle from being started by a driver who is under the influence of alcohol. The system is equipped, furthermore, with an EMHA (Electronic Monitoring Home Arrest) system, which can communicate with a remote server, for example, via a cell phone. However, data being stored in the interlock system can be communicated to the server via this cell phone as well.
Ignition interlock device with rolling retest and motion detector is disclosed in US 8640813 B2. The breath alcohol interlock device includes an ignition interlock system for use with a vehicle, the interlock system requiring a successful breathalyser test to initiate operation of a motor of the vehicle, the interlpck system including a CPU. A vehicle computer that controls functions of the vehicle related to motion receives a signal from the interlock system of a successful breathalyser test to permit operation of'the motor vehicle. A motion detection device associated with the vehicle determines when the vehicle is placed into motion. The motion detection device provides a signal to the CPU of the ignition interlock system when vehicle motion is detected. The CPU of the ignition interlock system initiates a breathalyser retest algorithm upon receiving a signal from the motion detection device that the vehicle is placed in motion. One of the problems with current ignition interlock systems and the rolling retest is that if the retest is not performed within a predetermined time interval after notification of the operator that a retest is required, the ignition interlock systems will result in a warning, indicating the need for a retest. Depending on the programming of the interlock system, if the retest is not performed within a prescribed time limit, a warning is triggered, such as a blowing horn, flashing lights, or both, or the interlock system directing the operator or report directly to a service centre, presumably for an early service visit. This poses problems for a person subject to use of an ignition interlock system on very hot or very cold days, particularly if the person is subject to legal sanctions.
US Pat. No. 20030005337 A l discloses a portable device having biometrics based authentication capabilities. The device includes a microprocessor, a nonvolatile memory coupled thereto, and a biometrics-based authentication module controlled by the microprocessor. Preferably, the biometrics technology used is fingerprint authentication technology. The authentication module is capable of registering a fingerprint upon first use of the portable device, storing an encoded version of the fingerprint in the non-volatile
memory. Subsequently, the authentication module can read a person's fingerprint and reliably determine whether the fingerprint matches the registered fingerprint stored in the non-volatile memory. If a match is found, access to information in the non-volatile memory is granted to that person; otherwise, access is denied. But the result of the invention is not highly convenient and also the method and system is not much reliable for user authentication.
■ Fingerprint identification data card and electronic device is disclosed in EP 2360624 A2. The data card includes a case, a circpit board located in the case, an interface, and a fingerprint identifier. The case has a hole, the interface passes through the hole and the interface is connected with the circuit board, and the fingerprint identifier is disposed in the case and is connected with a processor on the circuit board in the case. It can be seen that, before using the data card, a user is required to input a fingerprint through the fingerprint identifier, and the user can use the data card only after passing authentication. As the security of fingerprint authentication is much higher than that of password authentication, the security of use of the data card is further improved.
■ Current biometric systems are also limited in size. For example, a fingerprint scanner must be at least as big as the fingerprint it is scanning. Other limitations include the lack of moldability and flexibility of some systems, which prevents incorporation into flexible and moving objects. Finally, the complex scanning systems used in current biometric identification methods are expensive, which prevents their widespread use.
Accordingly, there is a need for more automated and reliable biometric recognition methods and systems. Further there is a need for a cost effective and reliable alcohol analyser. Hence to overcome the limitations of the existing method and devices the present invention develop a mobile device which is a
