Description
"ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PINOUT FOR MAKEUP CASES"
[0001 ] This Utility Model Patent application refers to an "ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PINOUT FOR MAKEUP CASES", notably of a pinout to be used as rotating shaft between the lid and the base of makeup cases, whose highlight is the beveled profile, and the material with which it is injected allows the articulation of the said lid with predetermined stopping points, regardless of the frequency of openings / closings and the time of usage.
[0002] The usage scope of the innovated pinout is the cosmetic packaging industry, focused on the wrapping of compact powder, creams, gels, and related products.
[0003] The makeup cases are very well known, with a base containing the product and a lid pinned therein with an auxiliary mirror in the inner face. In the evolution of both the opening and closing of the lid, predetermined stopping points are proposed at different angles in order to promote the best face focus and greater comfort for the user during the cosmetic application.
[0004] Basically, there are two types of pinout currently available in the market - one made of plastic with a smooth profile, and the other made of metal, also smooth, and with a spring effect; both of them are pivoting at the base and lid.
[0005] The current status of the art anticipates some patent documents directed to the matter under consideration, such as MU 7902787-3 that relates to a packaging for cosmetics, comprised of a body formed by a lid and a circular base, both fitted with means to promote a better locking between the parts, which are joined by a flexible element that allows for the articulation of the lid.
[0006] The packaging above uses a section of material whose flexibility enables the articulation of the lid as an alternative to pinout. This model does not offer predetermined stopping points for opening or closing, and it also has a reduced shelf life as a result of material fatigue.
[0007] The M U 8501366-8 relates to an improvement in the locking and articulation mechanism between the base and lid of the packaging for cosmetics. The mechanism is configured by male pins confronting each other and projected from the inner side of the base, which fit into female semi-spherical cavities on the lid. A shaft under said cavity facilitates the assembly of the parts.
[0008] The above document enables the mounting of the lid to the base by means of a click. However, the pin, which is incorporated to the lid during injection, as well as its smooth profile, despite of low cost cause a number of inconveniences resulting from premature wear between the mobile parts, due to the loss of mechanical properties of the polymer with which it is manufactured. As the pinout is obtained during the injection of the lid, the use of a more resistant polymer (and, therefore, of better quality) would make the product cost unfeasible. Thus, wear causes looseness between the lid and the base resulting in a poor aspect, and in addition, the mechanical interference between the parties is lost, thus hampering the controlled articulation and leaving only one stopping point at the end of lid path.
[0009] The US 5975093 comprises a packaging for cosmetics that for its air-tightness is suited for wrapping products with a high content of solvents. Such packaging uses a metal pin to effect the spin axis between the lid and the base.
[0010] Although the inventive concept of the above document is related to means to prevent evaporation of the solvent, the metal pin, being more resistant than the plastic pin, solves the problems caused by wear and gives the packaging a Premiun look. However, two weaknesses are worth mentioning. The high cost; and the impossibility of recycling the packaging, since the pin cannot be removed from the lid.
[001 1 ] Moreover, a common problem with plastic and metal pins is the limitation on product customization.
[0012] Aware of the status of the art, its shortcomings and limitations, the inventor, accustomed to the segment in question, based on observation and researches created the "ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PINOUT FOR MAKEUP CASES" in question, made of engineering polymer highly-resistant to friction, whose body has beveled sections, thus creating vertices that cause greater mechanical interference in the cavity of the base and lid, which have smooth surfaces, with a pin at each side. Thus, the vertices are deformed inside the cavities, maintaining optimum mechanical interference of operation, which takes place smoothly and steadily. This coupled with the engineering polymer allows controlled articulation, i.e., stopping points in the lid in line with the actual vertices.
[0013] In the "ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PINOUT FOR MAKEUP CASES", the cavities of the base and the lid are countersunk in the outer edge, which function as
grooves for the insertion of pins fitted with compatible grooves, thus facilitating the centralized and aligned assembly in relation to the cavities and reducing the possibility of breakage.
[0014] In the "ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PINOUT FOR MAKEUP CASES", the beveled sections have a clearance in relation to the inner diameter of the cavities, aimed at ensuring the absorption of variations between the walls.
[0015] In short, the innovation presents as more compelling advantages:
■ The use of a better quality polymer only in the pinout of the beveled section allows for smooth, steady articulation and the lid stopping in any position, regardless of the frequency and time of use;
■ Not using metal pins allows for the recycling of the case after usage;
■ The separate assembly of the pinout opens possibilities for customization of the product;
S Eco-friendly solution;
s Excellent cost effectiveness.
[0016] Next, the model is explained with reference to the accompanying drawings in which the model is presented in an illustrative and non-limiting form:
Figure 1 : Exploded perspective view of the pinout innovated with respect to an ordinary makeup case;
Figure 2: Details in enlarged sectional view of the pinout for cases of
makeup;
Figure 3: Inverted perspective view showing insertion of the innovated pinout in the cavities of the base and lid;
Figure 4: Sectional view of an ordinary makeup case showing
the pinout;
Figure 5: Schematic side view showing different points of opening of the makeup case lid.
[0017] The "ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN PINOUT FOR MAKEUP CASES", object of this Utility Model Patent application, consists essentially of a pinout (1 ) made of engineering polymer, whose body is made up of beveled sections (2) alternated with vertices (3), which enable greater contact and mechanical interference with the walls of the cavities (4) of the base (5) and lid (6) of the makeup case (7) in which the
vertices are inserted, thereby allowing smooth, controlled articulation with predetermined stopping points (a).
[0018] More particularly, the innovated (1 ) pinout (1 ) made of engineering polymer highly-resistant to friction, whose body has beveled sections (2) interspersed with vertices (3) with dimensions propitious to promote greater interference with the internal walls of the cavities (4) of the base (5) and lid (6) in which the vertices are inserted, thus promoting articulation with predetermined stopping points (a), both in the opening and closing of the makeup case (7). Any variations in the internal diameters of said cavities (4) are offset and / or absorbed by the beveled sections (2) of the pinout (1 ), without any prejudice to the operation of the device or stopping points (a) predetermined by the vertices (3), which deform inside the cavities (4), thus ensuring optimum mechanical interference. The assembly, with respect to the alignment and centering of the pinout (1 ) in the cavities (4) is facilitated by grooves (8) countersunk in its outer edges, compatible with the grooves (9) forged at the ends of said pinout (1 ), which substantially reduced the breakage rate, regardless of the side of the makeup case
(7) in which it is mounted.
[0019] The present application presents inventive act resulting from the use of the pinout (1 ) of beveled sections (2) alternated by the vertices (3) which deform into the cavities (4), determining the stopping points (a) of the lid (6), regardless of frequency of articulation and time of use, which added to the novelty and industrial application makes it worthy the privilege of Utility Model Patent.
