Abstract

The invention concerns a method for the multicarrier transmission of a source signal comprising N subcarriers. Said method comprises the following steps: - partial response encoding (20) of said source signal, delivering an encoded source signal comprising a part created by said partial response encoding, referred to as an empty encoded part of said encoded source signal, - generation (21) of a predetermined signal from said encoded source signal, referred to as an additional signal; - addition (22) of said encoded source signal and said additional signal to said empty encoded part, in order to obtain a signal having a peak-to-average power ratio lower than the peak-to-average power ratio of said source signal, referred to as a compact envelope signal; - modulation (23) of a carrier wave by said compact envelope signal, delivering a modulated compact envelope signal; - amplification (24) of said modulated compact envelope signal, using a power amplifier, delivering an amplified signal; - transmission (25) of said amplified signal.
