It will be appreciated that the precise composition of any amount of biogas will depend on the organic matter that is treated and the precise conditions within that biogas reactor.

  • a further advantage of the apparatus for producing biogas described above with reference to the drawings is that the biogas that is generated in the digester can be used to drive a generator which is used to drive rotation of the drum. Thus the energy required to drive the digestion process can be provided by the actual biogas that is produced by the digestion process.
  • a yet further advantage of the apparatus described above is that it is modular and additional modules can be added on, either at the time of installation or later on, to increase the volume of organic waste that can be processed and the amount of organic waste that can be produced.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un digesteur (12) permettant de digérer de façon anaérobie des matières organiques et de produire du biogaz. Le digesteur (12) comprend un support (14) et un tambour (16) monté sur le support de façon à pouvoir tourner autour d'un axe longitudinal de celui-ci. Le tambour comporte une surface de tambour intérieure (19) et définit un espace intérieur fermé (20). Le ballon (16) comporte deux lames de mélange fixes (32, 34) sur sa surface intérieure (19) qui font saillie dans l'espace intérieur (20) et qui mélangent les matières organiques dans l'espace intérieur (20) lorsque le tambour (16) tourne. Le digesteur (16) comprend aussi un ensemble alimentation/refoulement (40) à une extrémité (23) du tambour (16) par laquelle les matières organiques peuvent être introduites dans le ballon (16) et refoulées de celui-ci. Le digesteur (12) comprend aussi un ensemble de soutirage de biogaz comprenant une tête collectrice de gaz (89) et une conduite de soutirage (90) permettant de prélever le biogaz produit dans le ballon (16). L'invention concerne aussi un appareil comprenant un conteneur extérieur contenant le digesteur (12). Le conteneur extérieur peut être chauffé à l'aide d'un échangeur de chaleur afin d'augmenter la température dans le digesteur et d'encourager la digestion. Le conteneur extérieur peut être un conteneur de transport multimodal, ce qui permet de transporter l'appareil d'un endroit à un autre.
