Abstract

The invention relates to a full face tunneling machine (1) comprising a base frame (2) having a chassis (13), and at least one cutting system (9). Said cutting system comprises at least one first cutting device (11, 24) having a tool support (14, 26) that is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation (15, 25) extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine and that can be driven to rotate, and at least one second cutting device (12, 28) having a tool support that is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation (13, 29) extending horizontally and at a right angle to the longitudinal direction of the machine and that can be driven to rotate, each tool support carrying a plurality of cutting tools (16, 22, 27, 30). The at least one second cutting device (12, 28) is set back with respect to the at least one first cutting device (11, 24) in the longitudinal direction of the machine and is designed as a secondary cutting device. The axes of rotation (15, 25, 13, 28) of the at least one first cutting device (11, 24) and the at least one second cutting device (12, 28) lie substantially in the same horizontal plane, the at least one first cutting device (11, 24) and the at least one second cutting device (12, 28) having substantially identical cutting diameters and carrying identical cutting tools (16, 12, 27, 30), especially rolling cutting tools.
