Definitions
- the present invention relates to jewelery articles and more particularly ear studs and other jewelry intended to be introduced and fixed in a piercing practiced in certain parts of the human body (earlobe, mouth, nostril and others).
- Known jewels of this type are generally constituted by a rod intended to be introduced into the piercing to be decorated and whose visible end is integral with a decorative element (a diamond for example) while its other end (not visible) is intended to receive a separable locking member, for example a nut screwing on a thread of the end of the rod and which ensures the maintenance in place of the jewel.
- the present invention aims to overcome the drawbacks mentioned above and proposes for this purpose a system intended to be implemented in a piercing practiced in the human body, the immobilization, once in place, s' performs in a particularly easy and reliable way, even without visibility or with low accessibility, and which presents no risk of losing one of its elements despite the small size of the jewel.
- the system according to the invention intended to be set up in a bore made in the human body, is of the type comprising a rod designed to pass through said bore, this rod having at its visible end after introduction. in the piercing a decorative element and the rod cooperating at its other end with a locking member which ensures the maintenance of this rod in its insertion position and allows the withdrawal thereof when desired.
- said locking member is articulated to said other end of the rod so as to take a first position in which it comes in the extension of the rod allowing the introduction thereof in the drilling or its withdrawal from it, and a second position in which the locking member is substantially perpendicular to the rod by prohibiting the output thereof from the bore, an elastic member cooperating with the rod and with the member of locking ensuring the stability of said two positions of the latter.
- the jewel according to the invention is thus made in one piece, without separable element, so without risk of loss thereof, and without difficulty in handling since it is only a question of tilting the locking member at right angles to the rod, and not to manipulate a separable member which must be held in place in a good position to be fixed.
- the end of the rod opposite to that carrying the decorative pattern has a flattened shape engaged between two parallel axial extensions of the locking member, said flattened end of the rod and the two extensions of the locking member having facing openings which are traversed by a hinge pin.
- the elastic member is constituted by a compression spring housed axially in a cavity of the locking member, this spring engaging at one end the bottom of this cavity and, by its other end, the articulated part of the rod (possibly with the interposition of a piston).
- the resilient member is constituted by a leaf spring disposed axially in a housing of the locking member, one end of said blade being fixed in the housing and the opposite end this blade having a beveled portion which, in the holding position, engages a beveled end of the flattened portion of the shank.
- the system to be put in place in a hole made in the human body comprises a rod intended to pass through said piercing and a locking member
- the stem comprises a removable segment and a support for receiving said segment removable in the extension of one another, said segment being provided for carrying, at an end opposite the support, a decorative pattern, and the support cooperating with a locking member, said locking member being articulated at one end of the support opposed to said segment, so as to take a first position, wherein the locking member is in the extension of said rod, and a second position, wherein the locking member is substantially perpendicular to the rod, an organ resilient cooperating with said support and with the locking member to provide stability of said first and second positions.
- the end of the support opposite to the segment may advantageously have a flattened shape and be engaged between two parallel axial extensions of the locking member, the flattened end and the two extensions having oppositely disposed openings which are traversed by an axis d 'joint.
- the elastic member may be constituted by a compression spring axially housed in a cavity of the locking member, this spring comprising a first end bearing against the bottom of the cavity and a second end engaged, at least indirectly, with the flattened end of the support.
- the bottom of the cavity may comprise a spherical end forming a support for the first end of the spring.
- the system may comprise a piston interposed between the second end of the compression spring and the flattened portion of the support.
- the end of the segment opposite to the support may also include a decorative element.

- Figures 3 and 4 are views respectively corresponding to Figures 1 and 2 but with a cutaway showing a spring housed inside the locking member;
- FIG. 5 is a view corresponding to FIG. 3, but showing the locking member in the active immobilization position of the jewel;
- - Figure 6 is a side view of a second embodiment of the jewel according to the invention, shown with its locking member in the inactive position, with a cutaway showing the leaf spring housed inside the organ locking;
- FIG. 7 is a cutaway front view corresponding to FIG.
- FIG. 8 is a side view of the rod constituting an element of the jewel of Figures 6 and 7;
- Figure 9 is a view corresponding to Figure 6, but showing the locking member in immobilization position of the jewel;
- FIG. 10 is a side view of a jewel intended to be placed in a bore, according to a first embodiment of the invention, the jewel being shown with its locking member in the inactive position;
- FIG. 11 is a front view of the jewel of Figure 10;
- Figures 12 and 13 are views respectively corresponding to Figures 10 and 11 but a cutaway showing a spring housed inside the locking member;
- FIG. 14 is a view corresponding to FIG. 12, but showing the locking member in the active immobilization position of the jewel.
- a first embodiment of a jewel according to the invention comprising a rod 1 intended to be implemented in a bore made, for example, in the ear lobe.
- the rod 1 has at its visible end (not hidden by the ear) diverging arms 2 which serve as housing for fixing a decorative pattern (not shown), for example a diamond.
- the opposite end of the rod 1 forms a portion 3 flattened on two opposite faces, which engages between two parallel extensions 4 of the outer wall of a hollow cylindrical locking member 5.
- a transverse opening 6 of the part 3 of the rod 1 comes opposite openings 7 formed in the extensions 4 of the locking member 5 and an axis 8 is mounted in the openings 6, 7 to connect together the rod 1 and the locking member 5, according to an articulated mounting.
- a compression spring 9 is disposed axially inside the body of the lock 5.
- the end of the spring 9 located opposite the rod 1 is hooked to a transverse axis integral with the locking member 5, while the opposite end of the spring 9 is attached to a piston member 10 which tends to project out of the locking member 5 to engage the end 3 of the rod 1.
- the compression spring 9 is replaced by a spring blade 11 axially housed in the locking member 5.
- the leaf spring 1 1 has at its upper part a notch 12 which engages on a transverse axis 13 integral with the wiper member 5, while at its other end, the leaf spring 1 1 presents at its lower part a bevel shape 14 ending in a substantially flattened portion 15.
- the flattened end 3 of the rod 1 is more elongated on its lower part than on its upper part and thus ends with a beveled end face 16.
- the elongate upper portion of the flattened end 3 of the rod 1 has a longitudinal groove 17. It is understood that in the inactive position of the locking member 5 shown in Figures 6 and 7, wherein the rod 1 and the 5 are aligned, the leaf spring 1 1 is applied by its flattened end 15 against the elongate portion of the end of the rod 1, engaging inside the groove 17. This aligned position is thus kept stable by allowing the easy introduction of the assembly into the piercing of the ear lobe, or its easy removal.
- FIG. 10 to 14 there is shown a third embodiment of the jewel according to the invention, comprising a rod 1 formed of a removable segment 118 and a support 101 for receiving, by screwing or snapping, the removable segment 1 18.
- This rod 1 in two parts 101, 1 18 substantially aligned, is intended to be implemented in a bore made, for example, in the earlobe.
- the removable segment 1 18 comprises at its visible end (not hidden by the ear) a flat surface 102 which serves to receive various items of jewelry, for example, a ring, a kitten (not shown) for fixing a pattern decorative (not shown).
- One end of the support 101 opposite the removable segment 118 has a portion 3 flattened on two opposite faces, which engages between two parallel extensions 4 of the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical locking member 5 and an axis 8 is mounted in the openings 6, 7 for connecting together the support 101 and the locking member 5 in an articulated manner.
- a central notch 121 is made on the part 3 of the support 101 .
- a compression spring 9 is disposed axially inside the body of the locking member 5.
- the end of the spring 9 located opposite the support 101 is in bearing on a spherical shaft 1 19, having a slot or not.
- This spherical shaft 1 19 is connected to the locking member 5 either by screwing or by snapping, or by fitting or by gluing.
- the rod 1 and the locking member 5 are in an aligned position which makes it possible to place the rod 1 in the piercing of the lobe of the ear, or to remove it, and this manipulation is carried out by as much as, in this position, the piston 10 engages the end face of the flattened portion 3 of the rod 1 by stabilizing this aligned position of the rod 1 and the locking member 5.
- the rod 1 and the locking member 5 may have a diameter of 9/10 of a millimeter, and that the hinge pin 8 may have a diameter of 3 / 10 millimeters.
