Abstract

The invention relates to a handle, especially of a pole used for walking or for sport, that can be connected to a flexible element that can be carried in a user's hand, said handle being provided with holding means that can cooperate with an engaging element fixed to the flexible element. The engaging element (9) comprises an engaging loop (38) that can be placed over the top of the handle in order to be arranged around same. The holding means (9) comprise stops (10, 17) provided on the periphery of the handle for detachably holding the engaging loop (38) in a longitudinal position in relation to the handle.

Handle of a walking stick or sports stick, which can be connected to a flexible element carried by the hand of a user

The present invention relates to a connection for connecting a handle, including a walking stick or sports, for example ski, to a flexible element that can be worn by the hand of a user, such as a glove or a flexible element that is similar to a glove such as a mitten, or an element provided with straps.

Already known connections to which the handle is provided with holding means adapted to cooperate with a fastening member integral with the flexible element.

In particular, patent EP 370 900 discloses connecting devices which comprise a fastening element extending from the area between the thumb and the index of a glove and in which the handle has a housing opening to the rear, in which can be introduced said hooking element, the handle being provided with operable holding levers acting on the hooking element to prevent it from separating from the handle. It follows that these holding means are subjected to heavy loads that the user applies between the glove and the handle, especially when it exerts a downward push on the stick.

US 5,114,154 discloses a connecting device in which a handle has a recess at the rear and wherein a flexible member which can be carried by the hand of a user is provided with a ring which can be threaded around the handle, the flexible element being further provided with a locking member engaging in the rear recess of the handle.

The object of the present invention is to propose an improvement of a connection between a flexible element that can be carried by the hand of a user and a handle of a stick.

The present invention is obj and a handle, in particular a walking stick or sports, provided with holding means adapted to cooperate with a ring of attachment installed around the handle by threading and secured to a flexible element that can be worn by the hand of a user.

The holding means carried by the handle may comprise stops provided at the periphery of the handle for releasably holding said snap ring in a position determined longitudinally to the handle.

The holding means carried by the handle can be arranged such that, in said determined position, the attachment ring extends from front to rear, from top to bottom.

The holding means carried by the handle may comprise a fixed stop arranged at the periphery of the handle and a movable stop capable of occupying a locking position, the fixed stop and the movable stop in the locking position being arranged on both sides. other of the snap ring, longitudinally to the handle.

The holding means carried by the handle may comprise displacement means for moving the movable stop between its locking position and a retracted position releasing the snap ring.

The present invention also relates to a flexible element that can be carried by the hand of a user and provided with a fastening member intended to be coupled to a handle, wherein the fastening member comprises two integral rings. at a location on their periphery, including a first ring intended to be installed around said handle and a second ring integral with the flexible element.

The first ring and the second ring may have a common portion which is placed at the rear of the handle and which cooperates with at least one of said stops.

A device for connecting a handle of a stick and a flexible element that can be worn by the hand of a user will now be described by way of nonlimiting example and illustrated by the drawing in which:

As can be seen in particular in Figures 1 to 8, there is shown a stick 1 which comprises an elongated member such as a vertical tubular rod 2, an upper end portion is threaded into a blind housing 3 of a handle 4 which extends substantially longitudinally to the rod 2. The side wall of the handle 4 is ergonomic so as to give a specific orientation to the stick 1 when it is taken in the hand by a user.

FIG. 8 also shows a flexible element 5 that can be carried by the hand of a user. This flexible element 5 comprises a portion 6 covering at least the palm of the hand of a user. The flexible element 5 may be a glove, a mitten or a straps element. In FIG. 8, by way of example, the flexible element 5 is a cuff that covers the palm of the hand and the back of the hand, passing between the thumb and forefinger and the cutting edge of the hand, and which has a strap passing on the outside of the thumb and hanging on the part covering the back of the hand.

We will now describe a connecting device 7 for separably connecting the handle 4 and the flexible element 5.

The connecting device 7 comprises holding means 8 which are provided at the upper part of the handle 4 and a fastening member 9 integral with the flexible element 5.

As shown in particular in FIGS. 1, 2 and 6, the holding means 8 comprise a fixed abutment 10 arranged at the periphery of the handle 4. This fixed abutment 10 comprises, in for example, a front slot 11 arranged in an upper zone of the front portion of the wall of the handle 4 and shoulders 12 and 13 arranged on the lateral sides of the handle 4 and facing upwards. These shoulders 12 and 13 are for example formed by the upper faces of projecting parts 14 and 15.

The shoulders 12 and 13 are, from front to back, inclined downwards, for example at an angle of between 30 ° and 60 °, and extend approximately from the lower edges of the lateral ends of the front slot 11 to near the rear part of the handle 4.

As shown in particular in Figures 3 and 7, the rear portion of the handle 4 has a recess 16 located between the rear ends of the shoulders 12 and 13, the recessed portion extending laterally by portions 16a and 16b whose lower faces. upwards join the lower edges of the front lateral ends of the shoulders 12 and 13.

As shown in particular in FIGS. 3 to 5, the holding means 8 further comprise a movable stop 17 which, in the example, is formed by a rear end portion 18a of a holding slide 18 arranged in a housing 19 of the handle 4. The rear end portion 18a of the holding slide 18 has a lower bearing surface 18b.

The housing 19 is formed above and away from the upper end of the vertical housing 3, opens at the rear of the handle 4 through an opening 19a in the recess 16 and extends from rear to front without leading to forward.

The holding slider 18 and the housing 19 are formed such that the holding slider 18 is able to move back and forth and vice versa. In the example shown, the holding slider 18 is movable in a direction, from front to back, slightly inclined downwards.

The holding means 8 further comprise displacement means 20 for sliding the holding slide 18. The displacement means 20 comprise a maneuvering slide 21 arranged in a housing 22 of the approximately vertical handle 4, which opens upwards to the upper face 23 of the handle 4 and downwards in the housing 19 (FIG. 4 and 5).

The lower end portion of the operating slide 21 is engaged in a passage 24 of the holding slide 1 8 and comprises two arms 25 and 26 spaced perpendicular to the housing 19. These arms 25 and 26 determine a bearing face 26 facing towards the front, bearing on a bearing face 27 of the passage 24, facing back (Figures 3, 4 and 5).

The bearing surface 26 and the bearing face 27 are inclined so that when the operating slide 21 moves downwards, the holding slide 1 8 moves forwardly and vice versa.

The upward movement of the operating slide 21 is limited to a high limit position (FIGS. 3 and 4) in that its lower arms 25 and 26 have projecting hooks 28 and 29 bearing against shoulders 30 and 3. 1 arranged in the passage 24 of the holding slide 1 8 (Figure 7). In addition, the operating ram 2 1 is subjected to a return spring 32 installed in the housing 22, which urges it upwards towards its upper limit position. The projecting hooks 28 and 29 are also adapted to allow the mounting of the operating slide 21 by clipping onto the holding slide 1 8.

The displacement means 20 further comprise a spring 34 placed between the front bottom of the housing 19, opposite its rear opening 1 9a, and the front face of the holding slide 1 8, opposite its rear end portion 1 8a, to urge the holding slider 18 to the rear so that the bearing face 26 and the bearing face 27 remain in contact.

The holding slide 1 8 can be moved between two extreme positions.

In an extreme rearward position of the holding slide 1 8 (FIGS. 2, 3 and 4), its rear end portion 1 8a is at the outside of its housing 19, rearwardly beyond its rear opening 19a, so that the movable stop 16 is in a locking position. In this locking position, the operating slide 21 is in its upper limit position.

In an extreme forward position of the holding slide 18 (FIGS. 1 and 5), its rear end portion 18a is within its housing 19, so that the movable stop 16 is in a retracted position. . This retracted position is obtained in particular when a user presses down on the operating slide 21 by placing a finger on the upper end face 35 of the latter.

Referring to Figure 8, it can be seen that the attachment member 9, for example metallic, comprises a small ring 36 which is mounted on the portion 6 of the flexible member 5 for example by a seam 37 therethrough at a location within a short distance of the area between the user's thumb and forefinger. The attachment member 9 further comprises a large ring 38, the small ring 36 and the large ring 38 having a peripheral portion 39 common on either side of which they extend, being in the same plane or in slightly inclined planes relative to each other.

The large ring 38 of the attachment member 9 and the upper part of the handle 4 located above the fixed stop 10 are dimensioned so that the large ring 38 can be coupled to the handle 4, from the outside, cooperating with the holding means 8 in the following manner.

The user puts the large ring 38 around the upper part of the handle 4 located above the fixed stop 10, placing the small ring 36 at the back of the handle 4. The user slides down the hooking member 9 until the portion of the large ring 38 located at the front engages in the front slot 11 of the handle 4 (Figure 3) and that the side portions of the large ring 38 abut from above on the lateral shoulders 12 and 13 of the handle 4, taking the same inclination backwards and downwards (FIGS. 1, 2 and 4).

In the final part of this installation in the direction of the fixed stop 10 of the handle 4, the portion 39 common to the small ring 36 and the large ring 38 meets the rear face 40 approximately vertical end portion 18a of the support slide 18 and pushes the latter from its abovementioned locking position towards its retracted position above, against the spring 34, so as to bypass it, so that when the large ring 38 abuts against the fixed stop 10 , the slide 18 returns to its aforementioned locking position (Figures 2 and 4). The attachment member 9, and more particularly its large ring 38, is then in a predetermined position longitudinally to the handle 4.

This being done, the lower bearing surface 18b of the end portion 18a of the holding slide 18, forming the mobile stop 17, is placed above the common peripheral portion 39 of the attachment member 9 to prevent it from moving upwards. This common peripheral portion 39 is then placed, at least in part, in the rear recess 16 of the handle 4. In this position, the small ring 36, which extends downward, can also be placed, at least in part in the rear recess 16 of the handle 4.

It follows that the large ring 38 of the attachment member 9 is trapped and held between the fixed stop 10 which prevents it from descending along the handle 4 and the movable stop 17 which prevents it from going up the along the handle 4.

The user can then use the stick 1 connected to the flexible member 5 he carries while enjoying a certain freedom of movement of the handle 4 relative to his hand, around the small ring 36.

It can be seen that advantageously the fixed stop 10 is placed above the movable stop 17 and that in the locked position the fastening member 9 which surrounds the handle 4 is inclined backwards and downwards. This contributes to a good transmission of efforts that the user can apply on the stick 1 when the latter is in support on the ground.

When the user wishes to separate his hand from the handle 4 of the stick 1, he presses on the upper face 35 of the maneuvering slider 21 to move it downwards against the spring 32. In doing so, the maneuvering slider 21 pushes the holding slide 1 8 to its retracted position above wherein the movable stop 17 releases the common portion 39 of the attachment member 9 (Figure 5). The user can then move up his hand along the handle 4 and drive the attachment member 9 upwards, by sliding the large ring 38 upwards along the handle 4 until separation. , unlike the installation movement (Figure 3).

In an alternative embodiment, the attachment member could be fixed on the flexible element in another place, for example between the thumb and the index finger of the user or in the vicinity of the cutting edge of the hand.

In another variant embodiment, the holding slide having the movable stop could be replaced by a pivoting holding member.

In another variant embodiment, the maneuvering slide could be actuated laterally to the handle.

In another variant embodiment, the operating slide could be replaced by a pivoting operating member.

In another variant embodiment, the slider or operating member could be an integral part of the slider or holding member which could, for example, be actuated from above or laterally to the handle.

In another variant embodiment, it would also be possible to provide only movable stops for holding the fastening member.

In another variant embodiment, the attachment member could comprise an attachment ring open at the front of the handle, whose potions of extremities could engage with stops of the handle.

The present invention is not limited to the examples described above. Many other alternative embodiments are possible without departing from the scope defined by the appended claims.

1.
