Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for pretreatment of waste sludge, and more particularly, to a method for pretreatment of waste sludge and a device for pretreatment of waste sludge using said method. The present invention reduces sludge, improves separation of water from sludge, improves anaerobic breakdown efficiency, and the like through a single process. The above is achieved by destroying microbial cell membranes with hydrodynamic cavitation and a synergistic use of ozone produced by an ozone generator and injected into the sludge via the device generating hydrodynamic cavitation. The device for pretreatment of waste sludge comprises: a pipe with an injection port placed such that it is at an optimized spacing from the ozone generator; and a device generating hydrodynamic cavitation which passes sludge through a circular, oval, or polygonal shaped orifice with a small cross section by a pump (including a motor) which conveys sludge at high pressure and speed.
