Abstract

A photovoltaic module (P) comprises a layer of solar cells (1), at least one substantially transparent layer (2, 3) that is disposed on the sun-side front of the solar cells (1), and a connection to a power grid. At least one thermally conductive layer (5), which adjoins the solar cells (1) and extends across the surface of the back at least in some regions, is disposed the back of the solar cells (1). At least one further thermally conductive layer (4, 6, 7, 26) may be disposed such that it adjoins the thermally conductive layer (5) disposed on the solar cells (1), wherein at least one thermally conductive layer (5, 6, 7, 25) comprises the necessary electrical isolation for the solar cells (1). The photovoltaic module (P) according to the invention may be used to achieve a performance increase by dissipating the heat developing in the solar cells (1), wherein, in addition to the electric energy that can be generated, at the same time also the thermal energy of the sun becomes usable.
