Abstract
The invention relates to a method and a device for working the surface of an extremely hard material, especially for cutting polycrystalline diamonds (PKD), enabling rapid and homogeneous removal of material. To this end, the method according to the invention consists in working the surfaces of extremely hard materials, especially polycrystalline diamonds, using diamond powder or CBN powder. The surface of the workpieces is cut and removed by the combined use of a rotating grinding wheel and said supplied diamond or CBN powder, at a pressure of at least between 250 g/cm2 and 5000 g/cm2, and at a cutting speed of between 2 m/sec and 15 m/sec revolutions.
