Abstract

Provided is an attachable/detachable desk lamp. The attachable/detachable desk lamp includes: a lamp assembly comprising a lamp; a support of which one end is coupled to the lamp assembly and which supports the lamp assembly; and a monitor coupling portion fixedly coupling the other end of the support to a rear side of a case of a flat display monitor.

Description

DESK LAMP
Technical Field The present invention relates to an attachable/detachable desk lamp, and more particularly, to an attachable/detachable desk lamp of which lower end is fixed in a plurality of screw holes having standard requirements of a video electronics standards association (VESA), formed in a rear side of a case of a flat display monitor, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor.
Background Art
Currently, various types of desk lamps are widely used as auxiliary lighting devices. Conventional desk lamps include a support supporting a lamp assembly including a lamp and a base that supports the support and is seated on a desk. A bottom area of the base is designed to be comparatively large so that the base is not fallen while withstanding loads of the lamp assembly and the support.
When a conventional desk lamp is put on the desk, the base having a comparatively large bottom area is put on the desk. Thus, a space of the desk for office works is relatively small due to the base.
Disclosure of the Invention
The present invention provides an attachable/detachable desk lamp in which a lower end is fixed in a screw hole having standard requirements of a video electronics standards association (VESA), formed in a rear side of a case of a flat display monitor, so that the area and space of the attachable/detachable desk lamp on the desk are not necessary. The present invention also provides an attachable/detachable desk lamp in which a document-fixing assembly is installed at a support supporting a lamp assembly so that a user can do document works by using paper or document conveniently.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an attachable/detachable desk lamp including: a lamp assembly comprising a lamp; a support of which one end is coupled to the lamp assembly and which supports the lamp assembly; and a monitor coupling portion fixedly coupling the other end of the support to a rear side of a case of a flat display monitor.
The monitor coupling portion may be screw-coupled to a plurality of screw holes having standard requirements of a video electronics standards association (VESA), formed in the rear side of the case of the flat display monitor.
The attachable/detachable desk lamp may further include a document-fixing assembly coupled perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the support and fixing document paper.
The document-fixing assembly may include: a connection portion having a rod shape; a coupling and fixing portion formed in one end of the connection portion and coupling and fixing the connection portion to the support; and two document-fixing portions coupled to the other end of the connection portion and fixing document paper.
The document-fixing assembly may include: a connection portion having a rod shape; a coupling and fixing portion formed in a middle of the connection portion and coupling and fixing the connection portion to the support; and two document-fixing portions coupled to each of both ends of the connection portion and fixing document paper.

FIG. 3 is a cut cross-sectional view of the important elements of the attachable/detachable desk lamp illustrated in FIG. 1 , in the state in which the attachable/detachable desk lamp of FIG. 1 is installed at a liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor.
First, a plurality of (for example, four) screw holes 23 having standard requirements of a video electronics standards association (VESA) are formed in a rear side of a case of an LCD monitor 2 at which an attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 according to the present invention is installed, and a rectangular flat surface 22 (hereinafter, referred to as a mounting portion) is defined due to the screw holes 23, as illustrated in FIG. 2. The screw holes 23 are formed in edges of the rectangular mounting portion 22.
The attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 according to the current embodiment includes a lamp assembly 20, a hinge 21 , a support 15, a monitor coupling portion, and a power cable 30. The lamp assembly 20 includes a lamp, an electric circuit for driving the lamp, and a lamp shade. The hinge 21 may be used to couple the lamp assembly 20 to the support 15, and the lamp assembly 20 may be rotated right and left and up and down.
The monitor coupling portion is formed on a lower end of the support 15 and is coupled to the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2 as a flat display monitor. The monitor coupling portion is closely adhered to the mounting portion 22 formed at the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2 and is screw-coupled to the plurality of screw holes 23 formed in the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2. In the current embodiment, the monitor coupling portion includes a mounting bracket 10 and a coupling portion 16.
The mounting bracket 10 has a rectangular shape corresponding to the size of the rectangular mounting portion 22, and a plurality of screw holes 13 are formed in edges of the rectangular mounting bracket 10. A rectangular coupling portion 11 is formed in the middle of the mounting bracket 10. The coupling portion 11 protrudes from a direction opposite to a direction in which the coupling portion 11 contacts the mounting portion 22 formed at the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2. A surface in which the coupling portion 11 contacts the mounting portion 22 forms a step in an outer circumference of the mounting bracket 10. An outer surface of the coupling portion 11 is flat. A plurality of screw holes 14 are formed in the coupling portion 1 1 of the mounting bracket 10.
The support 15 supports the lamp assembly 20 by using the hinge 21. A long hole (not shown) is formed in a lengthwise direction of the support 15. The power cable 30 is connected to the lamp assembly 20 through the long hole so that power is supplied to the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1.
The coupling portion 16 protrudes from both sides of a lower portion of the support 15, and a plurality of screw holes 17 are formed in the portion in which the coupling portion 16 protrudes. A surface in which the coupling portion 16 faces the coupling portion 11 of the mounting bracket 10 is flat. The screw holes 17 formed in the coupling portion 16 of the support 15 match with the screw holes 14 formed in the coupling portion 11 of the mounting bracket 10. Here, the mounting bracket 10 and the support 15 including the coupling portion 16 may be formed of metal or high-strength plastics.
Two screws 19 are coupled to the screw holes 17 and 14 in the state where the screw holes 17 formed in the coupling portion 16 of the support 15 match with the screw holes 14 formed in the coupling portion 11 of the mounting bracket 10 so that the mounting bracket 10 and the support 15 can be coupled to each other. Subsequently, a plurality of screws 12 are coupled to the screw holes 13 and 23 in the state where the screw holes 23 of the mounting portion 22 formed in the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2 match with the screw holes 13 formed in edges of the mounting bracket 10 so that the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 can be fixedly installed at the rear side of the LCD monitor 2, as illustrated in FIG. 3.
The state where the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 according to the current embodiment is installed at the LCD monitor 2 when the LCD monitor 2 is installed at a desk is illustrated in FIG. 4. Thus, the area and space of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 on the desk are not necessary and thus, a wide space of the desk for office works can be obtained.
In the current embodiment, the mounting bracket 10 is separated from the support 15. The present invention is not limited thereto however, and the mounting bracket 10 and the support 15 may be formed as one body. For example, the mounting bracket 10 and the support 15 may be injection-molded as one body by using metal or high-strength plastics.
FIG. 5 is an exploded perspective view of an attachable/detachable desk lamp in which a document-fixing assembly is installed, according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 6 is a unified perspective view of the attachable/detachable desk lamp in which the document-fixing assembly is installed, illustrated in FIG. 5. The only difference between the current embodiment of FIG. 5 and the embodiment of FIG. 1 is that a document-fixing assembly 3 is installed at a support 15 of an attachable/detachable desk lamp 1. Thus, hereinafter, the same reference numerals are marked in the same elements as those of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 of FIG. 1 , and a description thereof will be omitted.
Referring to FIG. 5, the document-fixing assembly 3 is installed at the support 15 of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 according to the current embodiment.
The document-fixing assembly 3 includes coupling and fixing portions 32, 33, 34, and 35, a connection portion 31 , and document-fixing portions 36 and 37. The coupling and fixing portions 32, 33, 34, and 35 are formed on one end of the connection portion 31 and are coupled to and fixed at the support 15 of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1. The coupling and fixing portions 32, 33, 34, and 35 include a coupling portion 32, a fixing portion 33, a screw hole 34, and a fixing screw 35. The coupling portion 32 has one open side and encompasses the support 15 at its inside. The fixing portion 33 is formed as one body with the coupling portion 32 at both sides of the open side of the coupling portion 32 with a step formed inside the coupling portion 32, and the screw hole 34 is formed in the middle of the fixing portion 33.
The support 15 is inserted in the open side of the fixing portion 33 and the coupling portion 32, and the fixing screw 35 is engaged with the screw hole 34 so that the support 15 can be closely adhered to the open side of the fixing portion 33 and the coupling portion 32 and the document-fixing assembly 3 is fixed at the support 15.
The coupling and fixing portions 32, 33, 34, and 35 are formed of a little elastic metal or high-strength plastics. The coupling and fixing portions 32, 33, 34, and 35 may be detached from the support 15 when a user loosens the fixing screw 35 and may be moved in a lengthwise direction of the support 15.
The document-fixing portions 36 and 37 are formed on the other end of the connection portion 31. The document-fixing portions 36 and 37 include a document-fixing plate 36 and a clip 37. The document-fixing portion 36 is used to fix document or paper so that the user can do document works. A clip 20 that is used to insert and fix paper is installed at a front side of the document-fixing plate 36. The document-fixing portions 36 and 37 are well known and thus, a description thereof will not be repeated.
In addition, the document-fixing portions 36 and 37 may be rotated around a portion in which the document-fixing portions 36 and 37 are connected to the connection portion 31. This configuration is also well known and thus, a description thereof will not be repeated.
The state where the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 having the above structure according to the current embodiment is installed at an LCD monitor 2 put on the desk is illustrated in FIG. 7. Thus, the area and space of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 on the desk are not necessary so that a wide space of the desk for office works can be obtained. In addition, since the document-fixing assembly 3 is coupled to the support 15, the user can do document works by using document or paper conveniently. FIG. 8 is an exploded perspective view of important elements of an attachable/detachable desk lamp according to another embodiment of the present invention.
The only difference between the current embodiment of FIG. 8 and the embodiment of FIG. 1 is a monitor coupling portion. The other elements of FIG. 8 are the same as those of FIG. 1 and thus, a description of the same elements will not be repeated.
First, a plurality of (for example, four) screw holes 23a having standard requirements of a video electronics standards association (VESA) are formed in a rear side of a case of an LCD monitor 2a at which an attachable/detachable desk lamp 1a according to the present invention is installed, and a mounting portion 22a which is a rectangular flat surface 22 defined due to the screw holes 23a is formed, and a pole of the LCD monitor 2a is coupled to a middle portion of the mounting portion 22a, as illustrated in FIG. 8. Thus, the mounting portion 22a has a flat top side in which about a U-shape is upside down, and the screw holes 23a are formed in edges of the mounting portion 22a in which the U-shape is upside down.
The attachable/detachable desk lamp 1a according to the current embodiment includes a lamp assembly 20, a hinge 21 , a support 15, a monitor coupling portion, and a power cable 30.
The monitor coupling portion is formed on a lower end of the support 15 and is coupled to the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2a as a flat display monitor. The monitor coupling portion is closely adhered to the mounting portion 22a formed at the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2a and is screw-coupled to the plurality of screw holes 23a formed in the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2a.
In the current embodiment, the monitor coupling portion includes a mounting bracket 10a and a coupling portion 16a.
The mounting bracket 10a has size and shape corresponding to the mounting portion 22a having a flat top side in which about the U-shape is upside down, and a plurality of screw holes 13a are formed in edges of the mounting bracket 10a. A rectangular coupling portion 11a is formed in the middle of an upper portion of the mounting bracket 10a. The coupling portion 11a protrudes from a direction opposite to a direction in which the coupling portion 11a contacts the mounting portion 22a formed at the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2a. A surface in which the coupling portion 11a contacts the mounting portion 22a forms a step in an outer circumference of the mounting bracket 10a. An outer surface of the coupling portion 11a is flat. A plurality of screw holes 14a are formed in the coupling portion 11a of the mounting bracket 10a.
The coupling portion 16a protrudes from both sides of a lower portion of the support 15, and a plurality of screw holes 17a are formed in the portion in which the coupling portion 16a protrudes. A surface in which the coupling portion 16a faces the coupling portion 11a of the mounting bracket 10a is flat. The screw holes 17a formed in the coupling portion 16a of the support 15 are match with a plurality of screw holes 14a formed in the coupling portion 11a of the mounting bracket 10a.
Here, the mounting bracket 10a and the support 15 including the coupling portion 16a may be formed of metal or high-strength plastics.
Two screws 19a are coupled to the screw holes 17a and 14a in the state where the screw holes 17a formed in the coupling portion 16a of the support 15 match with the screw holes 14a formed in the coupling portion 11a of the mounting bracket 10a so that the mounting bracket 10a and the support 15 can be coupled to each other. Subsequently, a plurality of screws 12a are coupled to the screw holes 13a and 23a in the state where the screw holes 23a of the mounting portion 22a formed in the rear side of the case of the LCD monitor 2a match with the screw holes 13a formed in edges of the mounting bracket 10a so that the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1a can be fixedly installed at the rear side of the LCD monitor 2a.
When the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1a according to the current embodiment is installed at the LCD monitor 2a in the state where the LCD monitor 2a is installed at a desk, the area and space of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1a on the desk are not necessary and thus, a wide space of the desk for office works can be obtained.
In the current embodiment, the mounting bracket 10a is separated from the support 15. The present invention is not limited thereto however, and the mounting bracket 10a and the support 15 may be formed as one body. For example, the mounting bracket 10a and the support 15 may be injection-molded as one body by using metal or high-strength plasties.
In addition, like in FIG. 6, a document-fixing assembly may be coupled to the support 15 of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1a of FIG. 8. In this case, the document-fixing assembly is coupled to the support 15 so that a user can do document works by using document or paper conveniently.
FIG. 9 is an exploded perspective view of an attachable/detachable desk lamp in which a document-fixing assembly is installed, according to another embodiment of the present invention. The only difference between the current embodiment of FIG. 9 and the embodiment of FIG. 5 is the shape of a document-fixing assembly 3a installed at a support 15 of an attachable/detachable desk lamp 1. Thus, hereinafter, the same reference numerals are marked in the same elements as those of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 of FIG. 5, and a description thereof will be omitted. Referring to FIG. 9, the document-fixing assembly 3a is installed at the support 15 of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 according to the current embodiment. The document-fixing assembly 3a includes coupling and fixing portions 32a, 33a, 34a, and 35a, a connection portion 31a, and document-fixing portions 36a and 37a. The coupling and fixing portions 32a, 33a, 34a, and 35a are formed in the middle of the connection portion 31 and are coupled and fixed to the support 15 of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1. The coupling and fixing portions 32a, 33a, 34a, and 35a include a coupling portion 32a, a fixing portion 33a, a screw hole 34a, and a fixing screw 35a. The coupling portion 32a has one open side and encompasses the support 15 at its inside. The fixing portion 33a is formed as one body with the coupling portion 32a at both sides of the open side of the coupling portion 32a with a step formed inside the coupling portion 32a, and the screw hole 34a is formed in the middle of the fixing portion 33a. The support 15 is inserted in the open side of the fixing portion
33a and the coupling portion 32a, and the fixing screw 35a is engaged with the screw hole 34a so that the support 15 can be closely adhered to the open side of the fixing portion 33a and the coupling portion 32a and the document-fixing assembly 3a is fixed at the support 15. The coupling and fixing portions 32a, 33a, 34a, and 35a are formed of a little elastic metal or high-strength plastics. The coupling and fixing portions 32a, 33a, 34a, and 35a may be detached from the support 15 when a user loosens the fixing screw 35a and may be moved in a lengthwise direction of the support 15. The document-fixing portions 36a and 37a are formed on both ends of the connection portion 31 , respectively. The document-fixing portions 36a and 37a include a document-fixing plate 36a and a clip 37a. The document-fixing portions 36a and 37a may be rotated around a portion in which the document-fixing portions 36 and 37 are connected to the connection portion 31. When the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 including the document-fixing assembly 3a having the above structure according to the current embodiment is installed at an LCD monitor 2 that is put on a desk, the area and space of the attachable/detachable desk lamp 1 on the desk are not necessary so that a wide space of the desk for office works can be obtained. In addition, since the document-fixing assembly 3a including the document-fixing portions 36a and 37a is coupled to both sides of the support 15, a user can do document works by using document or paper conveniently.
While the present invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to exemplary embodiments thereof, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the following claims.
Industrial Applicability
According to the present invention described above, when the attachable/detachable desk lamp is installed at a flat display monitor, such as an LCD monitor, in the state where the LCD monitor is put on a desk, the area and space of the attachable/detachable desk lamp on the desk are not necessary such that a wide space of the desk for office works is obtained. In addition, when the document-fixing assembly is fixedly coupled to the support of the attachable/detachable desk lamp, a user can do document works by using document or paper conveniently.

Claims

What is claimed is:
1. An attachable/detachable desk lamp comprising: a lamp assembly comprising a lamp; a support of which one end is coupled to the lamp assembly and which supports the lamp assembly; and a monitor coupling portion fixedly coupling the other end of the support to a rear side of a case of a flat display monitor.
2. The attachable/detachable desk lamp of claim 1 , wherein the monitor coupling portion is screw-coupled to a plurality of screw holes having standard requirements of a video electronics standards association (VESA), formed in the rear side of the case of the flat display monitor.
3. The attachable/detachable desk lamp of claim 1 , further comprising a document-fixing assembly coupled perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the support and fixing document paper.
4. The attachable/detachable desk lamp of claim 3, wherein the document-fixing assembly comprises: a connection portion having a rod shape; a coupling and fixing portion formed in one end of the connection portion and coupling and fixing the connection portion to the support; and two document-fixing portions coupled to the other end of the connection portion and fixing document paper.
5. The attachable/detachable desk lamp of claim 3, wherein the document-fixing assembly comprises: a connection portion having a rod shape; a coupling and fixing portion formed in a middle of the connection portion and coupling and fixing the connection portion to the support; and two document-fixing portions coupled to each of both ends of the connection portion and fixing document paper.
