Abstract

The present invention relates to an upright, free-standing carton (10) having appendages (50) for stability. The carton comprises a body portion (30) that extends upwardly from a base portion (20) and bulges out beyond the base portion. In order to stabilize the bulging carton, provided are appendages extending from the body portion and contacting the surface on which the base portion of the carton rests.
