Abstract

A plasma display panel (1) is provided with a plurality of scanning/sustaining electrodes (Y) and a plurality of sustaining electrodes (X1, X2) which are arranged on a front substrate (11). A set of one scanning/sustaining electrode (Y) and a pair of sustaining electrodes (X1, X2) disposed on both sides of the scanning/sustaining electrode (Y) corresponds to a respective display line (L) in a matrix display region (50). Each of the scanning/sustaining electrodes (Y) is a metal electrode consisting of two parallel belt portions (yh) and a plurality of vertical belt portions (yv) joined to both of the two horizontal belt portions. One (X1) of a pair of sustaining electrodes (X1, X2) corresponding to a respective display line (L) and one (X2) of another pair of sustaining electrodes (X1, X2) corresponding to another display line (L) adjacent to the concerned display line (L) are connected to each other by metal belts (xv) formed of the same material as that of these sustaining electrodes at multiple sites in the matrix display region (50).
