- the present invention relates to the field of ball valves and, in particular, concerns a multiway ball valve for controlling the dispensing/distribution/mixing of fluids, meaning herein and hereafter by "way" all valve fluid inlet and outlet passages.
- Ball valves usually comprise a valve body having an inlet passage and at least one outlet passage to which are connected the pipes for the fluid to be dispensed, a swivel ball shutter, arranged between seals, in a seat provided between the inlet and outlet passages and having a hole at said passages, and a control rod mounted in the valve body and connected to the ball shutter for its rotation between a valve opening position, in which the ball hole is in line with the inlet and outlet passages, and a closing position, in which the ball hole is misaligned with respect to such passages.
- Three-way ball valves are also known, one at inlet and two at outlet, in which the ball shutter has a passage provided to place in communication the inlet way with one or the other of the outlet ways, or with both, according to need.
- One object of the present invention is on the other hand to propose a ball valve for fluids with a plurality of ways, at least four or more, that can be used as a distributor, with an inlet way for the fluid in the valve and the remaining ways for the outlet of the fluid in different directions selectively, and also on the contrary with a fluid inlet from one or more ways selectively and with a fluid outlet from a single way.
- Another important object of the invention is to propose a ball valve with a plurality of ways having self-regulating means, in the sense of being automatically controlled to variably direct the flow of fluid through the valve in response to signals indicating a certain physical quantity of the fluid, such as for example temperature, coming from at least one sensor associated directly or indirectly or remotely to one or some ways in which the fluid flows.
- a ball valve comprising essentially: a valve body with a first inlet way and a plurality of second outlet ways (or vice versa a plurality of inlet ways and a single outlet way), where the first way is on one plane and the second ways are on a different plane, a swivel ball shutter, placed between said ways and having a passage to place in communication the first way with at least one of the second ways, selectively, and a control system for causing the rotation of the ball shutter on the basis of at least one signal coming from the outside and indicative of the ways to be placed in communication from time to time.

- the valve in question comprises a valve body 10, a swivel ball shutter 11 and a rotating control rod 12 connected to the ball shutter, and a control device 13 to determine the rotation of the ball shutter by means of said rod.
- valve body 10 turns out to have a geometric axis Y coinciding with the rotation axis of the control rod 12 and therefore of the ball shutter 11. It is furthermore made to have a first way 14 along the direction of the geometric axis Y and at least four or more second ways 15 turned in different directions around such axis Y and angled, preferably in a right-angled plane, with respect to the first way.
- the first way 14 and each of the second ways 15 extend from a seat
- the ball shutter 11 is housed and turns in said seat 16 with interposition of seals 17.
- a passage 18 is obtained, configured to place in communication the first way 14 with at least any one of the second ways 15, following the rotation of the shutter itself.
- the passage 18 in the ball shutter can have a shape with two L branches 18', 18", as shown in the drawings, when the first way 14 has to be placed in communication with at least one of the other ways 15, or else a T or a Y shape when, if required, the first way 14 has to be placed in communication with at least two of the second ways 15 at the same time, variably positioned.
- the control rod 12 couples up radially with the ball shutter 11, forming the rotation axis of the latter which coincides, as has been said above, with the geometric axis Y of the valve body.
- the control rod must find itself in line with the branch 18' of the passage 18 of the ball shutter 11 turned towards and communicating with the first way 14.
- a closing position could also be envisaged in which its passage, though remaining with one of its branches in communication with the first way in the valve body, has the other branch misaligned with respect to each of the second ways.
- the control device 13 can be of the electrical, electro-mechanical or pneumatic type, and placed, according to need or space availability, at right angles or not to the control rod 12 to which it is associated. Such a device 13 will in any case be set up and controlled so as to cause the rotation of the ball shutter 11 in response to at least an indicative signal, for example, of a physical quantity concerning the fluid, detected entering and/or exiting from the valve or remotely.
- the physical quantity on which to base the control of the valve, and therefore the position of the shutter can be, for example, the temperature of the fluid, read where necessary by means of at least one heat probe, so as to direct the flow of fluid towards systems of storage or use according to a preset programme.
- the valve body could itself be designed with one or more seats to receive at least one sensor or a probe intended to interact with the control device 13.
- the first way 14 of the valve described above can be used both as fluid inlet, when this is to be distributed selectively through the second ways, and as an exit way when the fluid reaches any one or the other of the second ways.
- the control device 13 can be designed to stop the ball shutter in intermediate positions to perform a flow mixing/adjustment function of the fluid coming from two second ways and directed towards the first way.

Abstract
La présente invention concerne une vanne à bille pour liquides comprenant essentiellement : un corps de vanne (10) présentant une première voie d'admission (14) et une pluralité de secondes voies de refoulement (15) - ou vice versa une pluralité de voies d'admission et une seule voie de refoulement -, un clapet à bille pivotant (11 ), placé entre les dites voies et présentant un passage pour mettre en communication la première voie et au moins une des secondes voies, sélectivement, un système de commande (13) pour entraîner la rotation du clapet à bille suite à au moins un signal issu de l'extérieur et indiquant périodiquement les voies à mettre en communication.
