Abstract

A process for producing a polymer-polyol (I) which comprises a first step in which a monomer-containing liquid mixture (A1) comprising a polyol (a), an ethylenic monomer (b), a free-radical polymerization initiator (c), and a dispersant (d) is polymerized by the continuous polymerization method to obtain a polymer-polyol intermediate (B1) and a second step in which a monomer-containing liquid mixture (A2) comprising the ingredients (a), (b), (c), (d), and (B1) is polymerized by the continuous polymerization method. The concentration (mass%) of (b) in (A1) is 10-25, the concentration (mass%) of (b) in (A2) is 26-55, and the polymer-polyol (I) obtained has a polymer content (mass%) of 35-60. The polymer-polyol includes polymer particles dispersed in the polyol and having a small particle diameter. When used for polyurethane resin production, the polymer-polyol gives a polyurethane resin having excellent resin properties. Also provided is a process for producing a polyurethane resin from the polymer-polyol.
