Abstract

La présente invention concerne un nouveau catalyseur pour la décomposition de l'oxyde nitreux avec lequel l'oxyde nitreux peut être efficacement décomposé et éliminé. L'invention concerne également un procédé de purification d'un gaz contenant de l'oxyde nitreux avec ce catalyseur. Le catalyseur pour la décomposition de l'oxyde nitreux comprend (A) au moins un élément choisi parmi les métaux alcalins, le magnésium, les métaux alcalino-terreux, et les métaux des terres rares ou un composé de ceux-ci et (B) au moins un élément choisi parmi le nickel, le cobalt, le cuivre, le fer, le manganèse, l'argent, le ruthénium, le rhodium, le platine, l'or, le palladium, et l'iridium ou un composé de ceux-ci. Ce catalyseur a un volume de pore de 0,10 à 0,60 mL/g.
