Abstract

A positive photosensitive composition that does not need pre-exposure burning and has excellent adherence and high sensitivity. The positive photosensitive composition comprises (A) a polymeric substance having at least one carboxyl in each molecule, (B) a photothermal conversion substance capable of absorbing infrared rays from an imagewise exposure light source and converting the same to heat, and (M) a thermal acid generator. Preferably, the thermal acid generator (M) is at least one member selected from the group consisting of p-toluenesulfonic esters, p-toluenesulfonic anhydride and diphenylsulfone.
