Abstract

Provided is a wide-angle projector which can obtain a magnification ratio for a projected image without requiring focus adjustment. The projector includes a light source (2), alight modulation element (3), and projection optical system (4). The light source (2) generates a light flux for forming an optical image to be projected. The light modulation element (3) modulates the light flux so as to form an optical image to be projected. The field angle of the projection optical system (4) is set to a wide angle. Moreover, the projection optical system (4) has a constant focal length. The projector is moved forward and backward within a predetermined range with respect to a screen. Thus, it is possible to obtain a necessary resolution and modify the image size.
