Abstract

An electric connector assembly capable of detecting that the housing for the male connector is perfectly fitted into the housing for the female connector. A connector (10) for electrically connecting a printed wiring board to an electric cable (100) is characterized by comprising a receptacle connector (20) fixed to the printed wiring board, a plug connector (30) fitted into the receptacle connector (20), and a sliding member (60) which is held by the plug connector (30) and is movable to a predetermined area formed in the receptacle connector (20) only when the receptacle connector (20) is perfectly fitted into the plug connector (30).
