Abstract

The method and device for carrying out said method transmit information between different vehicles by means of a communication system. All determined and accurate positional and dynamic information is transmitted to a local electronic map, representing the current traffic situation. Using the information on vehicle dynamics the intentions of the driver concerned and the drivers of adjacent vehicles and the resultant trajectories are predicted. Dangerous situations are recognised when two or more trajectories coincide in the same time window.
