Description

Description
SCREW-TYPE FITTINGS
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to screw-type fittings used when pipes are connected with each other. [2] There are various pipe fittings and connection valves used when pipes, such as water supply pipes, drain pipes, gas pipes, and oil pipes, are installed. [3]
Background Art [4] One-touch type fittings are generally used when pipes of a small diameter such as air hoses are connected with each other, but screw-type fittings or socket type saddles are widely used when pipes of a large diameter are connected with each other. [5] Conventionally, when a pipe fitting is connected to a pipe by a screwing method, a cap, a pusher and an 0-ring are pushed into a place of a pipe fitting body, which is twice as large as the diameter of the pipe, in order. An end of the pipe is pushed to the center of the pipe fitting body so as to closely contact the Q-ring and the pusher to the body to the maximum, and then, the cap and the body are coupled with each 'other by a chain wrench. [6] After the pipe and the pipe fitting are coupled by the above method, a user separates the cap from the body in order to check that the O-ring is firmly fixed, and then, fits the holder on the pipe after expanding the holder. [7] At this time, the conventional fitting has a problem in that the O-ring is not exactly inserted into the body or gets torn due to distortion when the O-ring is inserted into the body. [8] After that, the fitting work is finished just when the user tightens the cap and the body again. [9] The O-ring is used for preventing water leakage. However, in order to closely contact the O-ring to the body and the pipe, the user strongly tightens the cap so that the holder and the pusher are compressed, whereby the O-ring is in close contact with the body and the pipe. However, the conventional fitting has another problem in that water leakage is caused when the cap is loosened just a little. [11] Therefore, the conventional screw- type fitting method is very inconvenient, complicated and difficult, and requires much time.
[12]
Technical Solution
[13] As described above, the conventional screw-type fittings deteriorates work efficiency and productivity since they are complicated in configuration and difficult in installation, and requires much time to install. Accordingly, to solve the above problems, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved screw-type fittings, which includes a tiered pipe fixing jaw, a packing for preventing water leakage, and a projection formed between the pipe fixing jaw and a body, thereby bein g coupled with a pipe in safe, preventing water leakage even though a cap and the body are coupled with small power, and allowing a user to rapidly finishing fitting work by firmly tightening the pipe with a few processes.
[14]
Advantageous Effects
[15] As described above, the conventional screw-type fittings deteriorates work efficiency and economical effect since they are complicated in configuration and difficult in installation, and requires much time to install. However, the screw-type fittings according to the present invention provides an economical effect and allows the user to easily conduct fitting work with small power, since it is simple in configuration, allows the user to easily conduct fitting work, and completely prevent water leakage.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[31] HG. 1 is an internally sectional view showing a preferred embodiment of the present invention, HG. 2 is an exploded sectional view showing the preferred embodiment of the present invention, HG. 3 is an exploded perspective view showing the preferred embodiment of the present invention, HG. 4 is a view showing a used state according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, and HG. 5 is a sectional view showing the preferred embodiment of the present invention.Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
[32] As shown in HG. 2, a pipe fitting (A) includes a body 40, a leakage preventing packing 30 inserted into the body 40, a holder 20 inserted into the body 40 next to the packing 30 in order to directly tighten a pipe (P) and a cap 10 coupled with the body 40 for compressing the holder 20 to the pipe (P).
[33] As described above, to prevent water leakage, the body 40 includes a packing insertion slot 43 for inserting a wing part of the packing 30 thereinto which is in a close contact with the inner periphery of the body 40 by pressure when the packing 30 is inserted into the body 40.
[34] Furthermore, the inside of the body 40 is processed in such a way as to have the same angle as the outer diameter of the packing 30 so that the packing 30 is in more close contact with the inner periphery of the body 40.
[35] As described above, after the packing 30 is inserted into the body 40, the holder 20, which has a saw-toothed inner periphery, is inserted into the body 40 for preventing separation of the pipe (P) and fixing the pipe (P) to the pipe fitting.
[36] At this time, the body 40 has a projection 41 formed on the inner periphery thereof and the holder 20 has a projection 21 formed on the outer periphery thereof for easy connection and separation between the body 40 and the holder 20. [37] A user oouples the cap 10 with the body 40 a little, and then, completely couples the cap 10 with the body 40 after pushing the pipe (P) into the body 40. [38] At this time, the body 40 includes a tiered pipe fixing jaw 42 formed on the inner periphery thereof in order to preventing movement of the pipe (P) inserted into the body 40, so that an end section of the pipe is in close contact with the tiered pipe fixing jaw 42 and prevented from movement. [39] Moreover, when the cap 10 is coupled with the body 40, since the holder 20 is compressed by pressure, the saw-toothed inner periphery of the holder 20 strongly compresses the pipe (P) to firmly fix the pipe (P). [40] The holder 20 is divided into four sections in such a way that the holder 20 is compressed or released according to, whether or not the cap 10 is coupled wiuVthe body 40. [41] At a contact area between the holder 20 and the cap 10, an inclination angle (Cl) of the holder 20 is smaller than an inclination angle (C2) of the cap 10, whereby the holder 20 can be more strongly compressed with smaller power. [42] When the cap 10 is tightened to the body 40, the holder 20 compresses the pipe (P) inwardly and the packing 30 toward the body 40 so as to prevent water leakage and to firmly assemble all components. [43] As described above, the present invention allows anybody to easily and simply connect and separate the pipe to and from the pipe fitting by releasing the cap 10 a little in a state where the packing 30 and the holder 20 are always coupled with each other inside the body 40.
