Abstract

The invention relates a medicament of injection B. Complex used for treating bacterial vaginitis. Though it is not determined the exact B vitamin involved, injecting a patient with lee of injection B complex inhibit the production of yeast in the vagina and thus ceasation of the itching of vulva and excessive vaginal discharge. The Vitamin B complex injection used is composed of Thiamine Hcl, Riboflavin, Pyridoxin Hcl, Niacinamide D-panthenol and Benzyl alcohol in water for injection.

Description

Injection Vitamin B. Complex for treatment of Non Specific Vaginitis (Bacteria Vaginitis)

Non specific vaginitis is the most common lower genital infection worldwide, It is associated with alteration of normal vaginal flora rather than infection caused by specific microorganism, The condition is characterized by a decreased concentration of lacto-bacillus, an increased numbers of gardneralla vaginalis and excessive yeast cells but no candidiasis. The condition remains to be very irritating and stressful to many women worldwide, Non- specific vaginitis present with severe vulva itching, profuse vaginal discharge and vaginal Ph >4,5. Medicaments that have been used for the condition include, Gential Viloet, Boric acid, Nystatia, clotrimazole, Butoconazole, miconazole, econazole and ketaconazole. The drugs preparations that have been used include vaginal pessaries, oral tablets and topical creams, Metrodazole has also been used to combat the increased gram- negative micro- organisms in the vagina. A ^• combination of vaginal tabs, oral tabs and creams have been used in hope of clearing gastrol intestinal tract of fungal infection to avoid re-infection of the genital tract®), Majority of the patient get relieved of the symptoms in the course of treatment but the symptom reappears immediately or sooner after stopping medication. The etiology of Bacterial vaginitis remains enigmatic and majority of researches agree that though failure of therapy and reccurence of vaginal yeast infection, there is poor understanding of the problem <^lAW> Injection vitamin B, complex used in the new management of Bacterial vaginosis is composed of Thiamine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, PyridoxineHydrochloride,

Niacinamide, D-panthenol Benzyl-Alcohol in water for injection. The natural sources of the vitamin B complex B are:-

1. Thaimine (vit B,) is whole grains, nuts, eggs, yeast, meats, milk, beans, peas, and sweet potatoes.

2. Riboflavin (vit B₂) _ milk, cheese, eggs, organ meat, whole grains, green vegetables, peas, been, dried yeast. 3. Pyridoxine (vit B₆) - wheat germ, whole grains, nuts, (peanuts, walnut), soya beans and yeast.

4. Niacianamide (Vit B₃) _ yeast, liver,

All these vitamins in injection Vitamin B complex have the yeast component as a source. Bacterial Vaginitis have the presentation of excessive yeast cells. Therefore the B vitamins being extracts from yeast was used to combat the excessive yeast production in the vagina.

Case History

A patient -who had bacterial vaginitis for over 10 years had always thought that her husband used to re-infect her after treatment. The husband went abroad for studies for 3 years. In his absence the patient was treated using several antimycotics and antibiotics but re-infection reccurred immediately after end of drug use. The patient went to the extent of discarding her old panties and got new ones with commencement of treatment, > On laboratory examination of the vaginal discharge no Candida albican was seen except excessive yeast cells, Yeast is a normal flora in the vagina but can become pathogenic in unfavourable condition e.g. pregnancy, prolonged antibiotic use, etc. I observed that the problem was not external but internal and that it responded to antimycotics when in use, I therefore came up with ideas that the problem was the yeast infection rather than the bacterial flora, The theory used here is that one of "Dawa ya moto ni moto" which means that "the treatment of fire is fire" which was also observed by Ludwig Harbelandt that extracts from the ovaries given to women inhibited the normal hormone production and thus contraception®,

I then gave injection Vitamin B complex 1 cc alternate 3 days which gave tremendous affects, Vit B Complex (which is an extract from yeast) was given to inhibit the production of yeast in the vagina. More than 30 patients with clinical presentation of B.V, have been treated using vitamin B complex. Conclusion:

Non-Specific vaginities is yeast related problem rather than bacterial infection and that it is not an external problem but an internal problem in individual patient which is yet to be established. The use of injection B complex relieves the symptoms of Non specific vaginitis though the specific B. vitamin involved is also yet to be established. I therefore believe that with more research on Inj. Vitamin B complex; a light is blinking for management of non- specific vaginitis at the end of the tunnel.
