Description

A HIGHLIGHTING DEVICE FOR HIGHLIGHTING HAIR
FIELD OF INVENTION
THIS INVENTION relates to a highlighting device for highlighting hair.
It relates particularly to a highlighting device for highlighting pubic hair.
It also relates to a highlighting kit including the highlighting device and to a method of
highlighting pubic hair.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a highlighting device for
highlighting pubic hair comprising
a liquid-impervious sheet element that defines a plurality of holes and that is shaped to cover the pubic region of a person; and
securing means for removably securing the sheet element to the person's body in an
arrangement wherein the sheet element overlies the pubic region, thereby permitting
selected tufts of pubic hair growing in the pubic region, to be pulled through the holes
in the sheet element and a highlighting preparation applied thereto.
The sheet element may have a generally triangular shape when viewed in plan view.
The securing means may comprise a waist band that is secured to an upper end
region of the sheet element, and a G-string that is attached to and that extends
between the waist band and a lower end region of the sheet element.
According to a second aspect of the invention there is provided a highlighting kit
comprising
a highlighting kit for highlighting pubic hair comprising
a highlighting device including a liquid-impervious sheet element that defines a
plurality of holes and that is shaped to cover the pubic region of a person; and securing means for removably securing the sheet element to the person's body in an
arrangement wherein the sheet element overlies the pubic region; and
a tool that can be inserted into the holes defined in the sheet element for pulling tufts of hair to be highlighted, through the holes thereby permitting a highlighting
preparation to be applied to the tufts of hair.
The tool may comprise an elongate shank and a hook-like formation that is disposed
at a lower end of the shank.
A method of highlighting pubic hair which includes
positioning a liquid-impervious sheet element having a plurality of holes therein, over
the pubic region of a person;
pulling selected tufts of pubic hair growing in the pubic region through selected holes
in the sheet element; and
applying a highlighting preparation to the tufts of pubic hair using the sheet element
as a backing sheet so as to prevent the highlighting preparation from coming into
contact with other pubic hair under the sheet element.
In use, the tool can be held by the shank and the hook-like formation inserted into a
particular hole in the sheet element. The hook-like formation is then manipulated so
as to hook onto a tuft of pubic hair which is then pulled through the hole. A
highlighting preparation is then applied to the tuft of hair using the sheet element as
a backing so as to avoid the highlighting preparation from coming into contact with the rest of the hair during the time that the highlighting preparation requires to take effect.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Further features of the invention are described hereinafter by way of a non-limiting
example of the invention, with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying
diagrammatic drawings. In the drawings:
Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a highlighting device in accordance
with the first aspect of the invention;
Figure 2 shows a schematic perspective view of a tool forming part of a highlighting
kit in accordance with the second aspect of the invention; and
Figure 3 shows a schematic perspective view of the highlighting device of Figure 1
being worn by a person.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
With reference to the drawings, a highlighting device in accordance with the first aspect of the invention, is designated generally by the reference numeral 10. The
highlighting device 10 is specifically adapted for highlighting tufts of pubic hair
growing in the pubic region of a person. The highlighting device 10 comprises a
sheet element 12 of liquid-impervious plastics material and securing means comprising a waist band 14 and a G-string 16 for removably supporting the sheet
element 12 on the person's body in an arrangement wherein the sheet element
overlies the person's pubic hair region. It will be appreciated that the highlighting
device 10 can be worn by a female or a male.
The sheet element 12 has a generally triangular shape when viewed in plan view,
which conforms to the shape of the pubic region of a person. The sheet element 12
defines a plurality of holes 18 through which selected tufts of pubic hair growing in
the underlying pubic region, can be pulled. The sheet element is of liquid-impervious
plastics material and forms a backing sheet which prevents a highlighting preparation
that is applied to a tuft of pubic hair, in use, from coming into contact with other pubic hair during the time that the highlighting preparation takes effect. The sheet element
has a generally triangular shape when viewed in plan view, thereby to conform to the
shape of a wearer's pubic region. The sheet element also serves a protective
function in that it prevents a highlighting preparation from coming into contact with
the highly sensitive pubic region.
It will be appreciated that any reference herein to "highlighting" must be interpreted
as a reference to bleaching or dyeing of hair.
The waist band 14 and the G-string 16 are of elasticized fabric material, the G-string being attached to the waist band and extending between the waist band and a lower
end region of the sheet element 12, thereby removably securing the sheet element to
the person's body so that it overlies the pubic region. According to a second aspect of the invention, the invention extends to a highlighting
kit which comprises the highlighting device 10 and a tool designated generally by the
reference numeral 20. The tool 20 comprises an elongate shank 22 and a hook
formation 24 that is disposed at a lower end of the shank 22.
In use, the highlighting device is worn by a person 26 in the manner as is illustrated
in Figure 3 of the drawings. In this arrangement, the sheet element 12 overlies the
person's pubic region in order to apply a highlighting preparation to selected tufts of hair in the person's pubic region. The tool 20 is used to pull tufts of pubic hair
through the holes 18 defined in the sheet element 12. As such, the tool 20 is held by
the shank 22 and the hook formation 24 is inserted into a hole 18 in the sheet
element 12. The hook formation is manipulated so as to hook onto a tuft of hair
which is then pulled through the hole. With the hair exposed, a highlighting
preparation is applied to the tuft of hair using the sheet element 12 as a backing
sheet so as to prevent the highlighting preparation from coming into contact with
other pubic hair during the time that the highlighting preparation takes effect. This
process is repeated for as many tufts of hair as are required to be highlighted.
The applicant believes that the highlighting device in accordance with the invention
and the highlighting kit including the highlighting device, provide a simple yet
effective means for highlighting pubic hair.
