Abstract
The invention relates to a textile reinforcement for producing a composite material comprising an upper and a lower textile coating and a voluminous, light, porous intermediate layer that is placed between said upper and lower coating. The coatings are connected to the intermediate layer which is formed by synthetic fibers having a fiber fineness of less than 30 dtex, said fibers being provided with a spiral-shaped or helix-shaped texture.
Description
"Textile Armierung""Textile reinforcement"
The invention relates to a textile reinforcement according to the preamble of the main claim.
This textile reinforcement can be used for the production of molded parts from composite material or articles with such a reinforcement, at least two textile reinforcement layers being provided, which are arranged on both sides of an intermediate layer which defines the thickness of the product.
This intermediate layer or non-woven layer consists of a layer of synthetic fibers that have a permanent corrugation, so that the intermediate layer is a light, thick and air-containing layer. The different layers are connected to each other by sewing or knitting. Such so-called sandwich constructions serve as reinforcement in the glass fiber plastic area, in particular in the so-called RT process (resin transfer molding), in which the highest possible resin flow through the intermediate layer and good drapability, that is to say the possibility of shaping the reinforcement, is sought. According to the generic literature reference, the corrugated fibers forming the intermediate layer should have a fiber fineness of at least 30 dtex. In the exemplary embodiment explained in this reference, however, fibers with a fiber fineness of 40 dtex are proposed and in practice fibers with a fiber fineness of 70 and 110 dtex are processed. These fibers are partially structurally pressed through on the surface of the laminates and there is an unwanted surface structure, to avoid which a particularly dense surface fleece must be used as a textile cover layer. These very dense surface fleeces are expensive.
If fibers that have a wavy texturing are used, the desired resin permeability can only be achieved if these fibers have a fiber fineness of more than 40, preferably 70 to 100 dtex. However, the use of these fibers still forms a relatively high resistance to the good flow of resin.
Dieser Literaturstelle ist nicht zu entnehmen, daß dieseEP 0 586 924 B1 describes a multilayer composite material which is to be produced using fibers which are to have a helical texturing. It cannot be inferred from this reference that these
Fibers should only be used in a middle layer of the composite material in order to achieve an almost structureless smooth surface of the end product, but on the other hand to ensure a good resin flow.
The invention has for its object to propose a textile reinforcement in which an almost structurally smooth surface of the laminates can be achieved without the use of the relatively expensive surface nonwovens and in which an excellent resin flow is ensured without an increase in the weight per unit area being necessary. This object on which the invention is based is achieved by the teaching of the main claim.
In other words, it is proposed that a synthetic fiber be used that has a spiral or helical texturing so that the fiber fineness can be kept below 30 dtex.
This design results in a lower resistance to the resin flow and ensures the required volume with sufficient pressure resistance without increasing the basis weight.
The fibers of the intermediate layer preferably have a fiber fineness of 25 dtex.
