Abstract

The present invention provides discrete particles (306) and methods of preparing the discrete particles (306), and abrasive articles (300) having projections attached to a major surface thereof and methods of making such articles (300). The discrete particles (306) and abrasive articles (300)include a plurality of abrasive grits (312) and a polymeric material (314) that includes a reaction product of components including (a) an epoxy-functional material, (b) at least one of a cyclic anhydride or a diacid derived therefrom, and optionally (c) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate. The invention also provides articles (300) made from the discrete particles (306) and methods of making such articles. Preferably, the articles are abrasive articles (300).
