Abstract

A communication system is described that enables the user of a local telephone network to obtain access to external telephone networks by using a wireless hand-free mobile communication apparatus. The system comprising a local telephone switching center (LTSC) interfacing between the local telephone network and the external telephone networks; a home base station (HBS) connected by a wireline to the LTSC and comprising an HBS transceiver circuitry for wireless communicating with at the wireless hand-free mobile communication apparatus. The communication apparatus comprising a mobile phone; a phone base station (PBS) electrically connected to the mobile phone and employing a PBS transceiver circuitry for wireless communicating with a hand-free earpiece via an earpiece transceiver circuitry. The hand-free mobile communication apparatus can receive or originate calls to/from any of internal terminals within a local network of business establishments and also receive or originate calls to/from external mobile communication apparatuses, while the employee is within the company premises.
