Abstract

The invention relates to a process for sorting agricultural products such as potatoes in addition to construction and other materials depending on the size thereof. The sorting machine comprises a sieving surface having the form of endless webs made of stems, whereby the guides of the main strand are made of a polymer material and stems and longitudinal elements form calibrating openings. The calibrating openings have a cross-section, which makes it possible to effect agitation without installing an additional agitator and to form round or polygonal calibrating openings to be formed on the plane of the web. The magnitude of agitation is modified by varying the position of the main strand guide by means of a control screw. The invention makes it possible to simplify the design of the sieving surface and to improve the quality of classification.
