Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device at fence system comprising wire netting, moulding strips having at least one longitudinally extending track for connecting wire netting and moulding strips.
- the means according to the present invention is characterized in that the moulding strips have an opening which is restricted by two longitudinally extending walls within which the track expands, that the wire netting has an outer edge part along which, at least partly, the outermost edge is a edge wire, that this at a joining to a moulding strip is introduced through an opening of the track and is moved to the side inside a first of said wall parts, that the fittings have a locking part and a gripping part, that the locking part projects from the gripping part and is designed in such a way that it can be introduced through the opening of the moulding strip in at least two opposite turned positions, that the locking part at its free end has a hook or the like projecting in one direction, which hook is arranged to extend in the longitudinal direction of the opening in said turned positions, that said hook is arranged to, in at least one of said locking positions at the turning of the gripping part into one locking direction, enter into locking enganment underneath the second wall part, whereby the locking part fix the edge wire inside the first wall part, and that the
- the great advantage using the means according to the present invention is that no tools are needed at all to join the moulding strips and the wire netting to continuous fences, and to dismount fences present.
- Figures 4-6 show four different perspective view of a suitable embodying example of a fitting for joining moulding strips and netting parts.
- Figures 7-9 show how the connection of moulding strip and netting parts is made step by step using the fittings.
- Fig. 10 shows a modified embodying example compared to the fitting according to Fig. 4-6.
- Figure 1 shows a fence built of netting parts 1 and moulding strips 2, which, as evident from the drawing are applied as frame sides into rectangular frames of a consecutive fencing system.
- a particularly suitable embodiment of the moulding strip 2 is shown in figure 2.
- the moulding strip can have another design. The essential thing is that the moulding strip has at least one longitudinally extending track 3 which in cross section can be T-shaped, dovetail shaped, or the similar.
- the moulding strip 2 of figure 2 is symmetric having four tracks 3, one along each side of a four-sided moulding. This design is particularly suitable as a moulding strip of this kind can be used for connecting two fencing parts 1 which runs in the same or different directions.
- the tracks 3 of the moulding strips have a, in relation to the size of the tracks, relatively narrow opening 4. This is restricted by wall parts 5, 6, inside which the track widens uniformly in opposite directions.
- FIG 3 a particularly suitable embodiment of a netting is shown.
- This consists of a square shaped net with horizontal and vertical wires 7, and 8, respectively, whenin a upright position.
- the horizontal wires 7 are all situated on the same side of all crossing, vertical wires 8.
- the horizontal wires are welded together with the vertical wires in each joint.
- the outermost edge of each wire edge part 1 is an edge wire 7 and 8, respectively, to facilitate connection with the moulding strips, which will be described more in detail herein below.
- the fitting shown in Figs. 4-6 which as a totality has been denoted 9, consists of a locking part 10 and a grip part 11.
- the grip part is oblong having a flat or planar underside 12 and from said underside the locking part projects perpendicularly from a site near one end of the grip part.
- a stop neck 13 which as will described more in detail below, cooperates with the track to restrict the turning movement of the fitting.
- the fitting 9 is suitably cast in one piece of plastic material.
- the locking part 10 is provided with a hook 14 which projects sidewise.
- This hook consists of two continuous parts running in the longitudinal direction of the fitting, of which a first part 15 is relatively thick seen in the projecting direction from the planar underside of the grip part of the locking part, and when subject to stress it is non-flexible, while the other part 16 is relatively thin.
- a fastening part 17 of the grip part comprising a part of the said planar surface 12 projects sidewise outside the locking part in the same direction as the hook 14 and forms, together with this, a slot shaped space 18, which, as will be described below, is intended to receive one of the wall parts 5 or 6, respectively, of the track, when the fitting has been applied and when it has been turned into locking position.
- the slot shaped space 18 is wider right in front of the thicker first part 15 than right in front of the thinner part 16 and the width of the slot diminishes further in the direction to the free end 16' of the thinner part.
- the slot width right in front of the thinner part 16 has been dimensioned in relation to the thickness of the wall parts 5, 6 of the moulding strips so that the thinner part of the hook is resiliently abutting the wall part 5 or 6, respectively, of the track, when it is applied in the slot shaped space. This resilient function allows tolerances of the thicknesses of the wall parts 5 and 6.
- the locking part 10 has, between the planar surface 12 of the grip part and the hook 14 a substantially cylindric part, the diameter of which has been so chosen that it is substantially fitting the width of the opening 4 of the moulding strip.
- the cylindrical part gas a radially projecting thin rib 19 arranged right in front of the slot 18, which rib is intended to compensate for fitting tolerances of the width of the opening and of the diameter of the cylindrical part.
- the moulding strip is preferably made of aluminum which material has many advantages when used as a moulding strip.
- One drawback of aluminum is, however, that the manufacturing exactness with regard to dimensions is low, and that the fitting tolerances thereby become large. This has as mentioned above been compensated for by arranging the
- the locking part is provided with a projecting corner 20 which is intended to serve as a latch and thereby only allow turning of the fitting in one turning direction at the application of the fitting onto the moulding strip as described below.
- FIGS 7-9 a cross-section of the moulding strip 2 is shown and how a fence part is being applied onto the moulding strip and locked using the fitting 9.
- FIG 7 an edge wire 8 has been introduced through the opening 4 to a track 3 and been moved to the side underneath a wall part 5.
- Figure 7 even shows how the fitting is introduced into the track.
- the locking part of the fitting 9 is more narrow at the longitudinal direction of the grip part than in the cross-section of the grip part, in which direction the hook 14 projects.
- the locking part is dimensioned in relation to the opening 4 in such a way that it can be introduced through the opening when the hook stretches across the opening, such as shown in Fig. 7.
- the locking part is introduced through the opening and locks in this position the edge wire 8 against a sidewise movement, i.e., downwards in Fig. 8.
- the fitting When the fitting has been brought into the track, as shown in Fig. 8, it can be turned anticlockwise in the direction of the arrow A, whereby the broad, slot shaped space right in front of the broad part 15 of the hook, is firstly applied around the wall part 6 and whereafter the thinner part 16 of the hook is applied in a resilient abutment to the wall part 6 for locking the fitting.
- the fitting goes into locking position which position is shown in Fig. 9 the projecting corner snaps down inside the edge part of the opening at the wall part 6.
- the embodying example shown in figure 10 corresponds substantially to that embodying example which is shown of figs. 4-6 and corresponding parts have been provided with the same reference numbers.
- the projecting corner 20 has been eliminated.
- the stop neck 13 is evenly thick.
- the fitting 9 according to figure 10 can be introduced in the way as shown in figure 8 but can also be attached having the grip part in opposite direction. The fitting thus becomes turnable in two directions as the projecting corner 20 is eliminated.
- the end parts of the stop neck 13 snap inside the edge parts of the wall parts 5, 6 when the fitting move into locking position.
- He fitting 9 is intended to easily become attached in locking position and easily become released. As it may be suitable at certain embodiments from a security point of view to have the fittings more permanently present in locking position a groove 21 has been applied on the grip part of the fitting which groove serves as an introduction site for an optional locking screw.
- the invention is not restricted to the embodying examples given above but a number of modifications are possible within the scope of the accompanying claims.
- the fitting need not be designed as described above.
- the essential thing is that there is a grip part and from this an extending locking part, which can be introduced into the track for locking the edge wire and which is provided with a hook which can be applied in locking position underneath a wall part surrounding the track opening.
- edge wire 7, and 8, respectively need not necessarily extend continously over the whole edge of the fence part but it is enough that there are a number of separated edge wires 7, and 8 respectively where the fittings can be attached.
- the netting fence need not necessarily have the design as described but may be varied.
- the fittings need not be designed in a polymeric material but can be designed in any other material such as aluminum. If one should choose aluminum one has to consider that this is a relatively rigid and the e.g., the stop neck 13 has to be designed resiliently e.g., in the form of a resilient iron sheet.
