Abstract
The invention relates to an electromagnetic relay with an exciter coil (2) that can be controlled by means of an input signal and at least one set of contacts (1) consisting of movable and fixed contact elements. The movable contact elements are mechanically coupled to an armature. A magnetic flux that is proportional to the load current (I1) is converted into an electrical measurement signal by a magnetic field sensor (4). The magnetic field sensor (4) is also coupled to a comparator (7) that compares the signals that are generated by a reference signal source (6) and the magnetic field sensor (4) and provides an output signal. A monitoring unit (8) has a first low pass (TP1) that is controlled by the control input signal, a second low pass (TP2) that is controlled by the output signal of the comparator, an initialization unit (IE) and a switching unit (SE) that controls the electrical connection between the control input contact elements (S1, S2) and the connecting elements of the winding (W1, W2). The mode of the switching unit (SE) can be changed by means of a switching mode memory unit (9).
