Abstract
This invention concerns specially a device (1) designed to be supplied, in its first configuration, with the medicine, within the same package, and in a second version, to be sold in pharmacies, drugstores, supermarkets and others, with the purpose of indicating to the users the correct times when the medicines should be taken; in the first configuration the device (1) is constituted by a liquid crystal display (3), a small buzzer (7), a led (6) and a key (5); in the second configuration, the system is basically the same, but having two or more keys (5), two or more leds (6) and one buzzer (7), where each medicine is related to a given key and a led.
Description
"MEDICINAL TEMPORIZER".
The present application for patent of invention is related to a new "medicinal temporizer", specially a device designed to be supplied, in a first configuration, together with the medicine, within the asme package, and, in a second configuration, sold in pharmacies, drugstores, supermarkets and other facilities, with the purposes of indicating to the users the correct times when the medicines and/or treatments should be taken and/or given.
It is known that most medicines in general have to be taken in previously determined hours, in multiples or sub-multiples of 24 hours, including under the possibility of not achieving the effect to which they were prepared.
In the present state of art, the users should remember or mark the exact time when the medicines have to be taken, a fact which may eventually create problems, with the medicines being taken outside the programmed times. This thought is applied to the allopathic as well as homeopathic medicines, based upon the specific medical indications related to each case. It was thinking in a way to electronically follow the right hours when the medicines should be taken, that the inventor designed this temporizer. In a first configuration, specially designed for the user who takes preferably one single medicine, the temporizer may be supplied in the same package, with said medicine. In a second configuration, more specifically for users which take several types of medicines and/or are submitted to treatment in different hours, it may be sold in pharmacies, drugstores, supermarkets, etc.
This temporizer is formed, in the first configuration, by a small device complying a liquid crystal display with 2 digits or not, a small buzzer, a led and a starting key. When the user wants to program the time for taking the medicine, it would be sufficient to press the key only once. This

Eventually, the temporizer may receive publicity messages in its free areas, related to pharmacies or drugstores, distributors, laboratories and others.
We shall now explain the invention in more details and, for a better understanding, we refer to the drawings attached hereto, in which:

The "medicinal temporizer" 100 object of this application for patent consists basically, of a device (1) constituted by a microcontroller or specific application integrated circuit (ASIC) (2), connected to a liquid crystal display (3) with 2 digits or not, said micro-controller (2) 105 or"ASIC" being fed by a battery (4) and connected to a key (5), a led (6) and a buzzer (7).

110 such as 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 hours, which are the most frequent time intervals used for the consumption of medicines in general.
In the first configuration, 115 the device (1) is supplied together with the medicine, within the package.
The user, in order to program the time in which the device (1) should "ring" in
120 order to indicate the time to take the medicine, should press the key (5) only once, therefore enabling the device and allowing the selection of the correct time. Then the key is pressed twice, which acts such as "enter", of enabling the time counter. In order to
125 reset the device (1) and return it to the "resting" situation, the user presses he key (5) for three times .
The device (1) has a second
130 configuration, shown in figures 3 and 4, to be sold in pharmacies, drugstores, supermarkets and other places, in which the "ASIC" or micro-controller (2a) is connected to the liquid crystal display (3a), driven by a battery (4a) . In this configuration, there is a
135 series of two or more keys (5a) , two or more leds
(6a), and one sole buzzer (7a).
In this second configuration, the device 91) is specific for users who take several 140 medicines in different hours, and each key (5a) and
led (6a) kit is used to control the time intervals for a given medicine, selected by the user.
The programming procedures 145 are individual for each medicine, they may be programmed at the factory or through a single key.
Resuming, at the programmed time for the medicine, the device (1) will (a) turn the corresponding led (6a) on and turn the buzzer 150 (7a) , successively.
Eventually, the devices (1) may have in its free areas, publicity messages relative to pharmacies and drugstores, distributors, 155 laboratories and others.
Claims
1)A "medicinal temporizer" characterized by a device (1) to be supplied, in its first configuration, together with the medicine, in the same packages, constituted by a micro-controller or Specific Application Integrated Circuit (ASIC) (2), connected to a liquid crystal display (3) of 2 digits or not, with said micro-controller (2) being fed by a battery (4) and connected to a key (5), a led (6) and a buzzer (7); once the device (1) is programmed, which may be previously made in the factory or using one single key, it will turn on at the respective hours, turning the led (6) and the buzzer (7) on; the programming follows basically intervals of sub- multiples of 24 hours.

"Medicinal temporizer", as per the claim 1, characterized by, in a second configuration which is to be sold in pharmacies, drugstores, supermarkets and others, having the microcontroller or ASIC (2a) connected to a liquid crystal display (3a) , driven by a battery (4a) ; in this configuration there is a series of two or more keys (5a), two or more leds (6a) and one single buzzer (7a) ; with each key (5a) programming one type of medicine, while each led (6a) is turned on at the appropriate time, together with the buzzer (7a) .
