Description
THREE - ARMED FISHING ROD HOLDER WITH CARTRIDGE
Field of technique
The invented object belongs to the field of the actual everyday needs, i. e. in the field of fishing. Precisely, it is a three - armed fishing rod holder with cartridge.
According to the international patents classification (MKP4) the invented object is marked by the basic classification symbol A 01 K 97/00 reffering to the rod holders as one part of the equipment for fishing with the fishhook.
State of technique
Speaking about. the fishing by a fishhook hooked at the end of the rod fastened to the fishing stick, it is known that for the support of the stick the! various types of forks stuck in the land on the coast have been used for a long period of time.
By the time the shape and structure of a holder have changed in order to fulfill different requirements.
In the Yugoslav Patent Register No. 30 449 it has been described and presented the fishing rod holder by which the altitude of support and angle of placing the rod can be adjusted. The holder is designed from the cylindrical tube with the cone - shaped sharpened end for sticking it into the ground, while in the inner tube there is a roller which
can be axially turned through a tube. The roller is fastened in a tube on the certain altitude by one pair of pincers which are twisted by the coiled part through one of the several openings on a tube and through the opening on the roller. The fishing rod is supported by the semicircular forks at the top of a tube, with the center of gravity in front of the support, and the pincers serve for fastening of a rod and security against the turning over.
According to the Yugoslav patent registration P-1980/86 it is described the device for holding the curvedly tensed fishing rod with the aim to stretch out the rod and pull the hook towards the coast in the moment when a fish bites it and slightly pulls it, while the fisherman does not have to hold the rod.
Regarding the structure the device consists of the tubular bodies, each of them fastened to the coast ground by two coiled fastened little poles. In one tubular body, almost horizontally placed to the coast line, the fishing rod handle is fctstened. Closer to the top, the curvedly bent rod is supported by the special shaped turning element on the second tubular body whose axis is vertical to the tangent line of the curvedly bent rod. The turning element is strained from above with the straining spring. When a fish bits a bait the rod is becomes tense till the rod is shortly twitched in the direction of water, and it is slided along the upper surface of the second tubular body, and the turning element is lowered. The rod is released from support and it is leveled tightening the rod, and the hook is suddenly hooked in the fish's mouth.
Finally, in the Yugoslav patent registration P--1927/89 it is described the automatic device with which it
is achieved the counter -■ twitch necessary in the deep fishing, especially in the fishing of carp, catfish, and other similar kinds of fish, which usually make the sudden jerks. Therefore, the problem of tardiness of counter twitch by the fisherman occur. This problem is solved by the automatic device.
However, the basic defect of the above mentioned recognized holders is the complexity of their structure and due to that the high price of their production, so that they are practically not accessible to a great number of fisherman.
The inventor removed the above mentioned defects presenting the new structure of the fishing rod holder, the invention which will be here described in details and presented on the draft.
Presentation of the essence of invention
The primary aim of the said invention is to secure the full stability of the fishing rod by the new structure of holder and to enable that the rod, when needed, is lifted by hands from the supporter easily and swiftly. The secondary aim, which is also significant, is the choice of plastic as the material for holder. instead of much more expensive metal material.
The adventage of invention is also the possibility of manual handling of the fishing rod in the case when the float sinks or shakes, which still does not mean that the fish is hooked. In that moment the fisherman pulls the rod by hand and lifts it radially without taking out out from its bearing cartridge, and the rod is tightened and the fish is
automaticallly pulled and hooked. During further lifting the rod is tightened towards the fisherman, it is drawn out from its bearing cartridge, and the rod is still tightened. After that the rod is winded up and the fish is removed from the hook.
The esseence of the invention is especially structured three-armed holder whose arms, of different lenghts, are moved from one another for certain angle. The vertical lower arm, good part of it stuck into the ground on the coast, serves as the bearer of the complete holder. The right arm of the holder has on its end the bearing cartridge jointly connected with the end of fishing rod, and the left arm is forked at the top and serves for support of the mentioned rod. The angle between the upper arms is 90 degrees, and the angles between every upper arm and vetical arm ar 135 degrees. It has been structurally calculated that the best relations of lenghts of left, right and vertical arms, expressed in centimeters, are 25 : 17 : 14.
The way of use is very simple. The fisherman, after the sticking and fastening of the vertical arm of the holdei in the ground on the coast, puts the fishing rod end in the bearing cartridge on the right arm, and the rod is suppored by the forked top of the left arm. The joint is fastened to the right fork by the butterfly nut. In that way the rod is regularly placed and in the moment when the float sinks or twitches, the fisherman holds the rod by hand and handles it in the above described manner.
The joint, between the bearing cartridge and the right arm of the holder can be made with three degrees of freedom (spherical joint) or with one degree of freedom regarding the motions of the bearing (hinged joint).
There is possibility that the bearing cartridge is made integrally with the right arm, for exymple, in casting, which would represent the third variation of producing the three - armed holder according to this invention. In comparison to the classic fishing rod holders, the three - armed holder has many adventages, and the most important among them are the following:
- there is the direct, infulence on hooking in the case that the fish is not completely hooked, i. e. better- handling of rod after sinking it or twitching of a float.
- simple and easy structure,
- less expensive production of the holder itself using the adequate material,
- it is possible to save the material by cross - shaped cast profile of the holder's arms,
- it can be made also in one piece, which makes the production even simple, and
- the serial production of the holder can be organized.
Short description of draft images
For easier understanding the invention is presented on the enclosed draft, and:
- Image .1 presents the invention in set with the bearing cartridge through the spherical joint, in the vertical
projection,

-- Image 5 presents the joint from image 3, from the side of the clamp in the profile projection,
- Image 6 presents the variants of invention from image 1 in set with the radially movable cartridge in a vertical plane, in the vertical projection,
•■ Image 7 presents the invention from image to, without the bearing cartridge, in the profile projection,
- Image 8 presents the invention made in the third way of production, with the bearing cartridge made in one piece together with the holder's arm, in vertical projection,
-- Image 9 presents the bearing cartridge from image 8, in the direction of arrow A in the profile projection and
- Image 1.0 presents the bearing cartridge from image 8, in the direction of the arrow B.
Detailed description of the invention
On image 1 it is shown that the said invention consists of the vertical arm 1 for sticking into the ground, from the supporting arm 2 directed diagonally to the right, and from the supporting rod 3 directed diagonally to the left. To the supporting arm 2 through the spherical joint 4 the bearing cartridge 5 is connected which serves for putting in the end of the fishing rod handle 6 which is presented on the image only partially, the top of the supporting rod 3 is made3 in the shape of semicircular fork 7 for supporting the fishing rod 6.
All three arms 1. 2 and 3 of the holder a re made in one piece, it is best to be cast in plastic of certain quality. Ihe bearing cartridge A is also made in plastic.
The spherical joint 4, presented on images 3, 4 and r>, presents one of the possible solutions. It consists of a round head 8 which is made at the top of the supporting aim 2, interyaliy with ii , and of two spherically made shells 9 and 9" , which are, also integrally, extensions of the nearing cartridge 5. The spherical shell'-; 9 and 9' serve to encircle the round head with it 8, while the spherical joint 4 is fastened in the best position which the fisherman selects by the eyes 10 and 10' (for example, by the butterfly nut which is not presented here).
At the end of the arm 1 for sticking into the ground the arrow -• shaped widened top 11 is made which serves that the holder, or its arm 1 is stuck more easily into the ground and taken out less easily.
All the arms 1, 2 and 3, beginning from its common focus till the end, are slightly narrowed. On the draft it is presented that their cross sections are in the shape of ellipse. However, it is possible, for the purpose of saving the plastic material, to make the arms 1, 2 and 3 in the shape similar to the cross of their cross sections, which has been already mentioned above.
Instead of the spherical joint 4 between the arm 2 and bearing cartridge 5' the hingead joint 12 can be made which is presented on the images 6 and 7. In that case the bearing cartridge 5' can be moved radially in the vertical plane.
On the images 8, 9 and 10 the simplest structure of the three - armed holder is presented. According to this variant the bearing cartridge 1.3 and supporting arm 2 make one whole, in which the cartridge 13 has a shape of a cup with the ellipsoid narrowed space 14 for putting the end of the fishing rod.
The way of the invention functioning has been already previously explained and it is not necessary to repeat it.
The way of using the invention
It is not necessary to describe the way of using the invention, because it is obvious from the previous description.
