Abstract

The transverse portion (6c) of the circlip (6) is an arc of a circle whose centre (C) is situated beyond the centre (C') of the rod (8) on which the circlip is fixed. As a result, the middle section of this transverse portion (6c) can be fixed in the groove (7) of the rod (8) without the transverse portion (6c) having to incorporate a lobe for that purpose. Accordingly, the surface area of the middle section of the transverse portion (6c) aligned with the axis (9) is equivalent to the average surface area of the said transverse portion (6c), which facilitates the deformation of the circlip occurring when the latter is fixed to the rod (8) or is removed from it.
