Description
"A HAIR DRYER DEVICE WITH INCORPORATED ULTRAVIOLET RAYS EMITTER"
The present invention concerns a hair dryer device comprising an incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter that allows, contemporaryly to the drying of the hair, to locally apply on the whole surface of the scalp an appropriate dosis of ultraviolet rays which, beyond perpetuating a bactericidal action onto the surface flora, above all determine a tonic and cellular stimulation action supported by an accentuated vascularization which, therefore, influences the nutrition and regeneration processes of the tissues and the normalization of the glandular secretion.
The device according to the present invention is therefore particularly appropriate in the therapy with ultraviolet rays of many affections of the scalp like alopecia, i.e. local or wide losses of hair due to different causes like traumata sometimes caused by the application of hair curlers, by excessive brushing, by particular hair-dressings which on long terms cause hypotrophy of the hair follicles; furthermore, it is particularly suitable in hair losses after the delivery, infectious diseases, chronic
debilitating diseases and slimming cures. The device according to the present invention may be useful in alopecias due to permanent waves, decolorants, hair dyes and to emotional factors, anxiety and apprehension conditions.
It is well known that the introduction of light rays for treatment purposes also in fields different from the specific one being the object of the present invention goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century. The growing interest has urged many studies and experiments that have lalowed a rational and specific application of the infrared as well as of the ultraviolet rays.
The biologic effects of the rays are linked to their wave length and allow photochemical reactions that transform previously stable molecules. Furthermore, a particular importance is given to the liberation of sulphridrilical compounds of the skin, as these occur in many fermentative processes of reduction and oxidation.
The object of the present invention provides a device which, through ultraviolet rays applied during hair drying, has an action similar to the
various local applications which aim to obtain a local vasodilatation and therefore reactivate the hair and sebaceous follicles in a similar but much more efficient and continuous way than the many massages usually applied for stimulating the tissues.
Thus all problems linked to hair loss, greasiness and dandruff, which sometimes may lead to emotional difficulties and even to psicological complexes, may be solved. After having shown the advantages of the present invention, also the convenienve in use of the device according to the present invention shall be underlined, the easiness in using the hair dryer with the incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter and finally the efficiency and the certain benefit of this novelty that blocks the hair loss, the dandruff and the greasiness.
The hair dryer device according to the present invention, with an incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter, comprises means for ignition and control of the hair dryer and of the emitter, means for housing and supporting the ultraviolet rays emitter consisting of one or more ultraviolet ray lamps of appropriate shape.
The main features of the device according to the present invention, as well as further features of cons iderable importance for the op t im a l realization of some of it ' s operations , the functioning thereof and the many advantages that may be obtained by means of said device will be described more in detail hereinbelow and shown in the enclosed figures .
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the hair dryer with an ultraviolet rays emitter placed on said hair dryer, said emitter being of rectangular shape obtained from the hull and placed in horizontal position to the central heating and ventilation body.
Figure 2 shows an electric scheme for the ignition and the control of all the means of the device according to the present invention.
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a variant of the device according to the present invention , comprising a lamp with a circumferential shape , coaxial with the tube for the air outlet.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a variant of the hair dryer device according to the present
invention with an ultraviolet rays emitter provided on the lower part of the central heating and ventilation body, together with a similar emitter provided on the upper hull of the heating body.
Hereinbelow the hair dryer device with incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter will be described in detail relating to above mentioned figures, in which some embodiments and variants of the device according to the present invention are shown.
It is evident that the ventilation and heating elements comprised in the hair dryer device are those already known in the art and used in all conventional and professional hair dryers, and are therefore not object of the present invention, do not have any novelty feature and are therefore not described in detail.
In the handle 1 of the hair dryer device with incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter according to the present invention, where the electric feeding cable 2 arrives, three switches 3, 4 and 5 are provided which respectively ignite the device, heat up the air and ignite the ultraviolet ray
emitter. It is therefore also possible to use the device according to the present invention only for the ultraviolet rays application. The switches 3 for the ignition and 4 for the insertion of the heating resistance may obviously also be united in one single switch with two releases, as it is already well known.
Figure 1 shows a variant of the hair dryer device according to the present invention, comprising an ultraviolet rays emitter, of the lamp kind, said lamp being frontally placed on the central ventilation and heating side 8, in appropriate housings 7 and 10 obtained in the structure of the device's hull, so that when said lamp is placed at an appropriate distance from the air outlet opening 11, said housings allow a local application on a well defined area of the sculp, with considerable benefits for the latter.
The variant of the hair dryer device according to the present invention shown in figure 2 comprises a circular lamp emitter 12, said lamp being provided in coaxial position to the tube 13 for the emission of warm air; said ultraviolet lamp 12 is housed in an appropriate seat 14, also cylindrical and obtained in the structure of the
central body 8 of the device, or is appropriately assembled to the same. The exactness in the distance between the lamp and the opening 11 for the outlet of warm air, is particularly important: infact, for obtaining the most advantageous and efficient action of the ultraviolet rays, the fire of the same must be realized on a limited surface of the sculp, avoiding useless and in any case wrong reflexions and dispersions. Furthermore, lamp 12, placed along tube 13, is away from the most intense temperature at the outlet of said tube 13.
The shape of the variant of the hair dryer device with incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter as shown in figure 3 is finally realized in the shape of one single lamp 15 and 18, housed in appropriate seats 16 and 17, provided above body 8, or connected to the hair ventilation and heating body 19 of the hair dryer: also these housings 16 and 17 are obtained in the hull's structure, and also in this case the distance from the lamp to the emitting outlet 11 allows to obtain the greatest benefits from such a shape in the application of the ultraviolet rays on the sculp for thereapeutical purposes.
For what concerns the functioning of the device according to the present invention, relating to the scheme shown in figue 2, the switches 3, 4 and 5 determine the parallel feeding respectively of the fan V, of the internal resistance R and of the lamp emitter 6 or 12 or 15 or 18, and by operating on said switches, it is possible to obtain all possible coupled or single combinations.
The hair dryer device with incorporated ultraviolet rays emitter according to the present invention may thus provide for a means of great utility and very inexpensive for the treatment of all kinds of alopecia while drying the hair after washing, also allowing a considerable support for prevention and for making hair loss reversible.
