Abstract
The multiple and modular device for supporting and showing audio- and videotapes, compact discs and similar consists of a circular support (1) devided in sectors with housings (2), for the vertical insertion of audio- and videotapes with their back, showing the title, outwardly turned, that is movable by rotation with respect to a circular structure (4) with a central cylindrical extroflection (6), due to means (7) that transform the sliding friction into a rolling friction, of the kind with metal balls casually spread between said structure and said support.
Description
"A MULTIPLE AND MODULAR DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING AND SHOW¬ ING AUDIO- AND VIDEOTAPES, COMPACT DISCS AND SIMILAR"
The present invention concerns a new kind of exhibitor, that may eventually be multiple and modular, for audio- and videotapes, compact discs, mini compact discs, digi¬ tal compacts, DCC tapes and similar.
It is well known that specialized shops often have the need of showing the public the greatest number possible of audio- and videtapes and similar, with reduced encum¬ brances and the possibility of moving the same for mak¬ ing the titles of said tapes visible to the possible purchasers .
This need has been solved, up to now, with supporting devices that are little functional and rather expensive.
It is the aim of the present invention to realize a de¬ vice for supporting and showing audio- and videotapes, compact discs and similar having a high functionality, reduced costs and the possibility of a modular composi¬ tion.
The aim set forth is reached by means of the device ac¬ cording to the present invention, consisting of a circu¬ lar support devided in sectors for the vertical intro¬ duction of audio- and videotapes, with their back, on which the titles are written, outwardly turned, movable by rotation with respect to a circular structure with a
central, cylindrical and vertical extroflection, due to means that transform the sliding friction into a rolling friction, of the kind with metal balls, casually spread between said structure and said support.
It is obvious that the dimensions and the shape of the sectors of said support may vary according to the dimen¬ sions and the thickness of the tapes, of the compact discs, of the mini compact discs and of the DCC tapes that may be exposed therein.
Furthermore, a plurality of modules like the above men¬ tioned one is provided by the present invention, and they may be piled up for composing, in a vertical direc¬ tion, exhibitors with a plurality of layers of audio- and/or videotapes and/or other.

Relating now to the figures, the multiple and modular device for supporting and showing audio- and videotapes, compact discs and similar according to the present in¬ vention consists of:
- a circular support 1, comprising annular sectors 2, for the vertical insertion and the exhibition of the audio- and videotapes, of the compact discs and simi¬ lar, with a central circular opening 3 that allows the application thereof onto the fixed structure 4 with respect to which the support 1 rotates, under the ma¬ nual impulse of the eventual purchaser that wants to examine the titles, around the whole round angle;
- a fixed structure 4 comprising a circular container with a peri etral stop edge 5 and a central cylindri¬ cal pin 6, for the insertion of said support 1 that

may rotate being limited by said edge 5 and by said pin 6 onto anti-friction means 7;
- a plurality of anti-friction means 7, like steel or similar balls, statistically spread and that may transform the sliding friction between the upper sur¬ face of said structure 4 and the lower structure of said circular support 1, into a rolling friction, thus allowing an easier rotation of the components;
- a cavity 8, provided in the lower surface of said fix¬ ed structure 4, for the vertical insertion onto the central cylindrical pin 6, provided for said purpose with a perimetral step 9, so as to allow the realiza¬ tion of multiple devices, consisting of a plurality of piled up modules.
In a possible variant of the device according to the present invention, and in the case of devices used for exhibition, in specialized shops and in private am- bients, the present invention provides the application of particular means for coupling the modules consisting of cylindrical structures 10, shaped in such a way as to get inserted, in a linked manner, onto said pins 6 of the lower modules and into the cavities 8 of the upper ones.
In the variant of the device according to the present invention, shown in figures 6 and 7, the presence of an

anti-theft device is provided that may be eventually a- dopted in the exhibition of the devices according to the present invention in shops or in public ambients.
The device according to the present invention, as shown in said variant, determines a limitation to the extrac¬ tion of the tapes or similar between the perimetral stop edges 5, with a continuity solution 11, with an extro- flected canal 12 for each level, for the radial displa¬ cement of one tape after the other of such a space that allows to read the descriptions of the front, by means of a rest determined by a lock 13 onto small teeth 14 realized on the small tongue 15, linked to one of the edges of said small canal 12.
The tape chosen for purchase may be completely extracted from the device according to the present invention only when said lock 13 is taken off by means of a key and by authorized personnel.
For preventing dust to get placed onto the tapes, the device according to the present invention is provided with a cover.

Claims
1. A multiple and modular device for supporting and showing audio- and videotapes, compact discs and similar, cha¬ racterized in:
- a circular support (1), comprising annular sectors (2), for the vertical insertion and the exhibition of the audio- and videotapes, of the compact discs and similar, with a central circular opening (3) that al¬ lows the application thereof onto the fixed structure (4) with respect to which the support (1) rotates un¬ der the manual impulse of the eventual purchaser that wants to examine the titles, around the whole round angle;
- a fixed structure (4) comprising a circular container with a perimetral stop edge (5) and a central cylin¬ drical pin (6), for the insertion of said support (1) that may rotate being limited by said edge (5) and by said pin (6) onto anti-friction means (7);
- a plurality of anti-friction means (7), like steel or similar balls, statistically spread and that may transform the sliding friction between the upper sur¬ face of said structure (4) and the lower structure of said circular support (1), into a rolling friction, thus allowing an easier rotation of the components;
• • «/ • • • - a cavity (8), provided in the lower surface of said fixed structure (4), for the vertical insertion onto the central cylindrical pin (6), provided for said purpose with a perimetral step (9), so as to allow the relization of multiple devices, consisting of a plura¬ lity of piled up modules.
2. A device according to claim 1, characterized in means for coupling the modules consisting of cylindrical structures (10) shaped in such a way as to get insert¬ ed linked onto pins (6) of the lower modules and into the cavities (8) of the upper modules.
3. A device according to claim 1, characterized in an an¬ ti-dust cover.
4. A device according to claim 1, characterized in an an¬ ti-theft device that determines a limit, between the pe¬ rimetral rest edges (5), to the extraction of tapes and similar, and comprising a continuity solution (11) with an extroflected small canal (12) for each level, for the radial displacement of one tape after the other of such a space useful for reading the eventual description on the front of the tape, by means of a rest determined by a lock (13) onto small teeth (14) provided onto a small tongue (15), linked to one of the edges of said small canal (12).
