PERFECCIONAMIENTOS EN LOS SISTEMAS DE SEÑALIZACIÓN DE FRENADO PARA VEHÍCULOS A MOTOR IMPROVEMENTS IN BRAKE SIGNALING SYSTEMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES
D E S C R I P C I Ó ND E S C R I P C I Ó N
OBJETO DE LA INVENCIÓNOBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to improvements introduced in the current signaling systems of the braking maneuver in motor vehicles, improvements oriented towards the achievement of better signaling, specifically of two different signaling levels corresponding one of them to what could be called a smooth or normal braking and another to an intense braking, the latter with a greater risk of impact for the vehicle that circulates immediately behind, as the deceleration is much more abrupt.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓNBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
As is known, motor vehicles. they incorporate a pair of rear pilots, braking maneuver indicators, fed from the vehicle's battery and through a push-button operated by the brake pedal, so that when the latter is actuated, the power supply circuit is closed. those and the consequent ignition of the same takes place.
This implies a constant intensity signal that causes exactly the same signaling both when the brake pedal is operated slightly, without practically affecting the vehicle speed, or when abrupt braking is performed with a slowdown. maximum vehicle rating.
In accordance with the foregoing and as it is obvious, the signaling is insufficient since the driver of the vehicle that is driving behind, the one that has to receive said signaling, only detects that a braking maneuver is occurring, but does not know if such a maneuver requires, on the other hand, a soft braking or braking as abruptly as possible to avoid impact.
As is also known, motor vehicles have other signaling systems, such as a circuit that, through a push-button, simultaneously feeds all the turn signals of the vehicle, making frequent use of this type of signaling when It intends to inform subsequent drivers of an emergency situation.
However, when this emergency is more serious and requires a very sharp braking, the actual tension of the moment and the need in many occasions to control the direction of the vehicle, prevent the driver from acting on the switch of this circuit, either because of forgetfulness or because of the real material impossibility of doing so, and in the best case when the signaling occurs, due to its manual nature, it is too late.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓNDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The improvements proposed by the invention have been designed to solve this problem to full satisfaction, and are based on the use of a speed detector, which is constantly analyzed the latter and providing the corresponding information to a decelerator discriminator, establishing an operational threshold for the latter, so that when said deceleration is kept below the preset level the signaling system operates in a way conventional, while when the deceleration exceeds said limit, in correspondence with a situation that could already be considered an emergency, said discriminator activates an output that closes an auxiliary signaling circuit, such as intermittence or any other.
According to another of the improvements of the invention, the signaling system is adjustable allowing to set the minimum speed and deceleration values, from which the output signal is activated.
According to another of the improvements of the invention, the system also processes the time that the output signal must be activated.
It is also provided, and this constitutes another of the characteristics that are recommended, that the said output signal is connected to the signaling installation itself through a switch that allows to cancel the system or establish two situations for the same of operation, one manual and another automatic.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LOS DIBUJOSDESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complement the description that is being made and in order to help a better understanding of the features of the invention, it is accompanied to the present descriptive report, as an integral part thereof, a single sheet of plans in which, with an illustrative and non-limiting nature and in its only figure, a block diagram corresponding to a signaling system has been represented of braking for motor vehicles, carried out in accordance with the improvements object of the present invention.
REALIZACIÓN PREFERENTE DE LA INVENCIÓNPREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
In view of this figure it can be seen how in a signaling system according to the improvements proposed by the invention a small electronic device consisting of a speed detector (1) participates, which can receive the corresponding speed signal from the own installation of the vehicle or from an additional one, which in turn can be mechanical, electromagnetic, photoelectric or of any other type, said detector (1) supplying the instantaneous speed value to a discriminator (2) that permanently calculates the vehicle deceleration, in the event that it occurs.
Said discriminator (2) also establishes minimum values for speed and deceleration, adjustable through corresponding controls of government (3) and (4), such as respective potentiometers, setting the lower limits above which must operate the system, specifically activating an output (5) that closes the "stop" circuit of the vehicle, the "intermittent" circuit or any other signaling circuit chosen in this regard and for a set time also in the discriminator circuitry (2). Finally and as can also be seen in the block diagram of the figure, the circuit (6) is connected to the output (5) of the system with the collaboration of a switch (7) preferably of three positions, one of actuation " manual "of the signaling circuit (6), another of cancellation of said circuit (Off), and another in which the system acts automatically.
It is thus achieved that the braking signaling system can act, at the will of the driver, in a conventional manner or with the improvements of the invention, that is, establishing two different levels of signaling depending on whether it is a smooth braking or sudden braking.
