Abstract

The structure of the reversible reclining chair is made of two tubes (30, 31) to which is attached a length of fabric which supports the user lying either on the back or on the stomach and whose ends are fitted into the curved members (32) of two identical supports (33, 34) which are inversely mounted and are slightly inclined to allow stacking; the user lies on his back on one side of the structure or, when it is turned over, face downwards on the other side.

Description

MULTIFUNCTIONAL LOUNGE CHAIR.

The invention relates to a lounge chair intended to be used in particular for reading comfortably - ALSO GOOD when lying on your back than when lying on your stomach.

Many models of deckchairs, garden, terraces, balconies, beaches, swimming pools, etc. are known. Some of these are equipped with a liftable backrest in one or more positions to allow reading in support on the backrest and legs extended. These various types of chairs are not at all comfortable for reading while resting on the stomach. For this, it is necessary to lean on the elbows while raising the upper chest. This position is uncomfortable and tiring and cannot be kept for long.

The object of the deckchair according to the invention is to remedy this drawback.

The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a chaise longue as comfortable to use lying on the back as lying on the stomach, especially for reading. According to the invention, there is provided a chaise longue comprising a reversible structure, supporting the user, having a straight part and a part inclined with respect to the right part arranged to provide a double back support function on one side and of clearance to receive the arms on the other side, extending by an angled portion of the order of 90 ° forming said clearance receiving the arms, in that a support leg on the ground supports said structure, either in the direction of the user lying on his back, either in the direction of the user lying on his stomach, in that the right part of said structure is mounted either parallel to the ground, or slightly inclined with respect to the ground, in that said structure is equipped with a soft and soft covering on both sides for ^" use, preferably said chaise longue is made with a base either incorporated into said structure, or removable laterally or at the end, for the rapid installation of a support canvas or a cover on its structure In a preferred embodiment of said chaise longue, the structural frame is preferably made by means of two tubes receiving a support canvas, and in that it comprises a removable base, closed or open, attached at the end, consisting of two identical parts mounted one inverted by relative to each other, fitted into the ends of the tubes of the chassis, in that said base is slightly inclined relative to the vertical to allow stacking.

In a second embodiment, the reversible structure receiving the user in one direction or the other, is constituted by two identical tubes each comprising: a straight part of support on the ground in use lying on the back, and a front extension fixed to the structure, cooperating with a second rear extension also fixed to the structure.

In a third embodiment of the chaise longue, the reversible tubular structure supporting the user comprises a lateral base consisting of four rings fixed laterally on said structure parallel to the ground, in a removable manner or not, in that at least one of its ends consists of a removable removable hoop immobilized on said structure allowing the easy installation of the fabric supporting the user.

In a fourth embodiment of said chaise longue, the reversible tubular structure is fixed to a tubular lateral base constituted by two identical rectangular frames.

In a fifth monobloc embodiment of said lounge chair, it consists of a plate, for example made of polyester, comprising a flat part at the ends of which two prominences have been formed, the most important of which acts as a headrest or back support, it is extended by a return bearing on the ground, the other end of said plate has the second prominence more reduced than the first acting as a wedging of the feet of the user, it is also extended by a return, in that the returns as well as the prominences are arranged to provide support to the ground in both directions of use.

The advantages provided by the deckchair according to the invention are as follows:

- allow you to lie down comfortably with your back raised, to rest and in particular to read and / or sunbathe;

- allow, after having turned the chaise longue, to lie down comfortably on the belly by resting the arms folded over the backrest part turned downwards, without fatigue of the arms or upper body which rests entirely on the flat part of the chair; this position allows you to read or engage in various activities without fatigue while resting on your stomach, using binoculars, a radio or television set etc ...; to allow use,

(similar to the previous ones) for children.

- improve the comfort of patients who have to stay on their stomachs for a long time, especially in hospitals, clinics, infirmaries and others.

Fig.l, 2 and 3 show a first embodiment of a reversible lounge chair according to the invention, consisting of a flat plate on which two prominences have been formed. In fig.l the user is lying on his back on a flat part 1, the raised head resting on the first protruding 3 extending by a return 4 bearing on the ground; the other end of the chair has the second protrusion 5 more reduced than the 4, serving as wedging for the feet of the user and being extended by a second return 6 for bearing on the ground. In the other direction of use, the supports on the ground are made on the top of the prominences 3 and 5. In fig.2, the lounge chair is in the inverted position, the user is completely lying on his stomach, his arms are engaged in the recess 3 bearing on the ground in cooperation with the recess 4 in which its feet are engaged. The shape of the protrusion 3 can be identical to that of the following figures to allow the back to be supported and not only the head.

This lounge chair is available in various materials, molded plastic, reinforced or unreinforced polyester, etc.

Figs. 4, 5, 6 and 7 show another embodiment of the lounge chair according to the invention presented front / back. The part 10 supporting the user has a hollow shape 11 to accommodate the arms of the user or support his back, more accentuated than in the previous figures. A part 12 supporting the back, cooperates with a part 9 to form the hollow clearance 11 receiving the arms, at an angle of about 90 °, it can be further extended to better satisfy this support function of the back. The straight part 10 of the structure is inclined downwards (fig.4) or upwards (fig.5). Part 10, in these figures, may be identical to that of FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. The base consists of two lateral, for example tubular, frames 13, 14, of rectangular shape, secured to part 10 by welding or the like depending on the nature of the materials used. The part receiving the user can be made of stretched canvas on a peripheral frame, for example tubular.

Fig.8 shows a variant of the previous figures. Part 10, receiving the user, is identical to that of the previous figures, on the other hand, the two tubular frames constituting the base, are of different shape. They each comprise: a straight part 20, 21 for resting on the ground in use lying on the back, and a front extension 22, fixed at two points 23, 24 on the part 10, cooperating with a second rear extension 25, to ensure the support on the ground in the use lying on the belly, fixed in two points 26, 27 on the part 10. This shape makes the deck chairs stackable, which is particularly useful for aplications to communities.

Fig.9 shows another variant of a chaise longue according to the invention, also stackable, but also very easily removable to make its storage even less bulky and to facilitate cleaning of the canvas on which the user lies down in this version type. It comprises two frame tubes 30, 31 on which the loops of the support canvas are engaged and constituting the active part of the chair. These tubes are either engaged in the tubular parts 32 of the reported end legs 33, 34 identical and inverted with respect to each other, the detail of which is shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, or engaged with a slight interlocking play on the ends 35, 36 of said legs which are slightly inclined relative to the vertical to allow stacking. It should be noted that in this version, the support frame 30.31 is parallel to the ground in the two positions of use, which is also possible in the previous figures.

The base of fig.lO is open, substantially U-shaped, with a return to the ground support 37, 38 in the vicinity of the nesting ends 35,36 which must be long enough to ensure good stability of the chair . A known type of locking, split pin or bolt for example immobilizes the legs on the chassis.

Fig. 11 shows another example of a more rigid removable base than that of FIG. 10; it consists of two identical rectangular tubular frames 40 on which are welded in a slightly inclined manner, two tubes 35,36 engaging in the ends of the chassis 3θ, 31 (fig.9) mounted inverted one relative to the other.

Fig.12 shows another variant of chaise longue according to the invention, in which the frame 45, arranged parallel to the ground, is either removable and in this case the support fabric is sewn or heat-sealed on site, or removable, at least d on one side, as in fig. 13, by means of a U-shaped arch 46, the ends of which are engaged in the chassis 45. The base is produced by means of four tubular rings 47 welded or fixed by screws on each side of the chassis 45. In the versions with metal chassis this can be in solid bar or preferably tubular to lighten it. You can also make frames or the entire lounge chair in molded plastic.

The active part of the lounge chair is advantageously covered on both sides with a soft and soft covering "to improve user comfort. This covering can be in the form of a cover closed on two sides, including the entire chassis, especially in the case of a removable chassis in fig. 9.

Claims

CLAIMS:

1 - Reversible lounge chair characterized in that it comprises a reversible structure, supporting the user, having a straight part (1, 10, 30, 31, 45) and an inclined part (12) relative to the right part ( 10), arranged to provide a double function of back support on one side and of clearance to receive the arms on the other side, extended by a part (9) at an angle of about 90 ° forming said clearance (11) receiving the arms, in that a base supporting the ground supports said structure, either in the direction of the user lying on his back, or in the direction of the user lying on his stomach, that the right part of said structure is mounted either parallel to the ground, or slightly inclined relative to the ground, in that said structure is equipped with a flexible coating on each of the sides of use.

2 - Chaise longue according to claim 1, characterized in that its base (47) is removable laterally for the establishment of a support canvas or a cover.

3 - Chaise longue according to claim 1, characterized in that the frame is preferably produced by means of two tubes (30,31) receiving a support canvas, and in that it comprises a removable base (33,34), closed or open, attached at the end, consisting of two identical parts mounted inverted with respect to each other, fitted into the ends of the tubes (30,31), in that said base is slightly inclined relative to the vertical.

4 - Chaise longue according to claim 1, characterized in that the reversible structure (10) receiving the user in one direction or the other, comprises a base constituted by two identical tubes each having: a straight part (20, 21 ) of ground support in use lying on the back, and a front extension (22), fixed on the part (10), cooperating with a second rear extension (25), also fixed on the part (10). 5 - Chaise longue according to claim 1, characterized in that the reversible structure (45), supporting the user, comprises a lateral base consisting of four rings (47) fixed laterally on said structure parallel to the ground, removably or not , in that said structure is tubular, in that at least one of its ends consists of a removable removable hoop (46) immobilized on said structure.

6 - Chaise longue according to claim 1, characterized in that the reversible structure (10) is fixed, inclined or not, on a tubular lateral base constituted by two identical rectangular frames (13,14).
