  • the object of the invention is to provide a steam boiler where the configuration of the fire tubes and the smoke boxes has been particularly considered in order to achieve a compact boiler with a very high efficiency, while at the same time the fire tubes are easily cleaned.
  • the two uptakes are led through two sets of fire tubes in a compact manner, in that the flue gas is first led from the flue to two fire tubes, which carry the flue gas forwards towards the front of the boiler, and from here the flue gas is led back to the rearmost smoke box of the boiler through a number of fire tubes and leaves the boiler.
  • This particular configuration permits complete cleaning of all fire tubes, the flue and the frontmost turn chambers from the front end of the boiler, for instance through suitable caps which can be opened, through which cleaning means can be introduced.

  • another medium can be heated in tube coils in the fire tubes of the boiler, which medium can also be saturated steam from the boiler which should be superheated in order to obtain dry superheated steam.
  • This particu ⁇ lar configuration provides a simple replacement pro ⁇ cedure when repairing or replacing a tube coil, and especially if the boiler according to the invention is configured as presented and characterized in claim 4, the tube coil can be replaced particularly quickly as a joint unit which is removed through the front of the boiler. Replacement of the superheater tube thus only brings the boiler to a very short standstill.
  • the possib ⁇ ility is provided of cleaning the cylindrical fire tubes and any tube coils placed herein while the boiler is operating in full, since the steam or the amount of water which is blown in through the clean ⁇ ing nozzle will pass the boiler surfaces downstream, first through the large cylindrical fire tubes and thereafter through the smaller fire tubes for the second uptake and tear off any soot. The main part of the soot will collect in the turn chambers where it can be removed through cleaning caps.
  • the steam boiler according to the invention is pref ⁇ erably configured to be used in the production of superheated steam as presented in claim 6, in that a very dependable and compact boiler is achieved, which is easily maintained both in respect of the cleaning of the boiler and the replacement of superheater tube coils.

  • the fire tubes 4 open into each their smoke turn chamber 5 at the front of the boiler, and the flue gas is hereafter in the second uptake led through a large number of fire tubes 6 having a substantially smaller width in the clear than the first-mentioned fire tubes 4. From the many fire tubes 6 the flue gas is led out into the smoke box 7 and from there to the chimney, possibly through an economizer for the heating of prime water or for the heating of fuel and/or combustion air.

  • the tube coil 8, which is preferably designed for use by the superheating of saturated steam, can be pulled out of the fire tube 4 as a unit in connection with repair or replacement.
  • soot blowing nozzles 12 can be provided, see Fig. 2, in order that steam or water can be added downstream for soot cleaning, partly of the flue 4 and partly of the tube coil 8. The soot blowing is performed while the boiler is in full operation.

  • the boiler is configured in the usual way, i.e. constructed of cast or forged parts being joined and sealed in the usual way and in such a manner that the flue 2' , the turn chambers 3, 5 and the fire tubes 4, 6 are surrounded by water chambers for boiler water to be heated to a desired steam pressure and temperature.
