Specification forming part of Design No. 9.983, dated May 15, 1877; application filed March 17, 1877. [Term of Patent H1} years.]

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, (Jnms'rornnn DenssER, of London, England, have originated and designed a Pattern for Wall and other Papers, of which I hereby declare the following to be a specification:

The nature of my design is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration, which forms a part of this specification.

My invention consists of a design for a frieze for wall-papers, and is composed of a central portion. A, upon which is embodied a scroll, B, of grotesque ivy-leaves, the spaces of the background being filled up by leaf traeery O, and of borders D D attop and bottom, the latter being decorated with dashes and circles.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-

The design for a wall-paper, composed of the central portion A, provided with the scroll B of ivy-leaves, and of the borders D D, sub stantially as shown and described.

In testimony that I claim as my invention the design hereinbefore described I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
