EDWARD R. SARGENT, OF NEWV HAVEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO SARGENT AND COMPANY, OF NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT, A COR- PORATION OF CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A METAL BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,980, dated July 22, 1902.
Application filed May 23, 1902. Serial No. 108,750. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD R. SARGENT, of the city and county of New Haven, State of Connecticut, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Metal Badge, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which form a part thereof, and in which- Figure 1 represents a front view of a metal badge, disclosing my design; and Fig. 2 an edge view of the same.
Similar letters of reference represent like parts in both figures.
The essential features of my design consist of an elks head A, the face of which is shown in full front in the front view of the badge and in profile in the edge view. The horns B of the elk are curved inward, so that the main portions thereof form substantially arcs of a concentric circle. Within the horns is a dial C with the usual clock-numerals D, from 1 to l2, and hands E and F, the longer, E, of which points to the numeral 12 and the shorter, F, to the numeral 11. Above the dial is a curved scroll G, the ends g of which are turned outward to the horns B. About the head proper of the elk is a substantially annular scroll H, the ends h of which extend benind the horns substantially to the dial.
Having now described my design, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-
The ornamental design fora badge, as here in shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand on the 19th day of May, 1902.
EDWARD R. SARGENT. Witnesses:
