UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN PANKRATZ, OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A THRESHING-MACHlNE-CYLINDER TOOL.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 35,721, dated February 11, 1902.
Application filed December 24, 1901. $erial No. 87,136. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN PANKRATZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Threshing-Machine- Cylinder Tools, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to threshing-machinecylinder tools, and has for its object to produce a new and original design for the same which is both useful and ornamental.
In the accompanying drawing, which represents a perspective view of the tool, the leading or material feature of the design consists in a right-angle bar whose arms are of very unequal length, the longer arm being laterally enlarged at and provided with a recess of rectangular form in its free end, the short arm terminating in a foot-plate disposed about parallel with the long arm and having its toe portion of about half the thickness of its heel portion and projecting beyond the latter; also, in the circular peripherally toothed wheel upon said toe portion and provided in its upper side with an angular recess, the teeth extending parallel with the axis of said wheel.
Minor features of the design reside in an angular opening in the longer arm, which is contiguous to the said enlargement and disposed at right angles to the recess of the latter; also, in a flange projecting from the upper portion of the heel in the same direction as and parallel with the toe portion of the foot-plate and having its outer edge concaved and paralleling the periphery of said toothed wheel and provided about centrally of its upper side with a circular figure.
Referring to the drawing in detail, 1 designates the right-angle bar,2 the longer arm, and 3 the short arm, thereof. 4 designates the lateral enlargement at the free end of said bar, and 5 the recess in the end of the same. 6 designates the opening in the bar near said enlargement and disposed at right angles to recess 5.
7 designates the foot-plate projecting from the short arm, 8 the heel portion, and 9 the toe portion projecting beyond the heel portion and of less thickness than the latter.
1O designates the flange projecting from the upper part of the heel portion and paralleling and partially overlying the toe portion and having its outer edge concaved, as at 11, and provided also about centrally of its upper side with a circular figure 12.
13 designates the toothed Wheel upon the toe portion and having its toothed periphery contiguous to and struck from about the same center as the concave edge of said flange and provided in its upper side with an angular recess 14.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a threshing-machine-cylinder tool, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN PANKRATZ.
