UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES PETER HORNBACK, OF CHESTER, ARKANSAS.
DESIGN FOR A STRAP OR CORD FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,419, dated December 10, 1901.
Application filed October 24, 1901. Serial No. 79,875. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it nut/y concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES PETER HORN- BACK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chester, in the county of Crawford and State of Arkansas, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Strap or Cord Fastener; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming, a part thereof.
The figure is a perspective view of the entire strap or cord fastener disclosing my new design.
As shown by the figure of the drawing, the leading or characteristic features of my design consistin the base portion, an arm springing and projecting from said base portion, and a ring-shaped or curved extension also springing from the saidbase portion.
The letterA designates the base portion; B, the arm which springs from the base portion; C, the free end of the arm which, in connection with the base, constitutes a bifurcated structure; D, the ring-shaped or curved extension which joins the base adjacent the point where the arm B connects with the said base portion, and E is the free extremity of the ring or curved extension.
The complete fastener appears to the eye as a unitary structure having a base portion, an arm extending from the base portion and in connection therewith presenting a fork-like appearance, and a ring or curve shaped extension joined to the base portion adjacent the point where the arm departs from the said base portion.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The design for a strap or cord fastener, as illustrated and having the characteristic features specified.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES PETER HORNBACK.
